To remove and install the radius rods on your RZR Turbo R, follow these steps:
1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface and ensure it is in PARK.
2. Remove the wheels from the vehicle.
- Loosen the lug nuts with a 19mm socket with a breaker bar while the vehicle is on the ground. Do not remove them at this time.
- Safely elevate the vehicle. Reference your Owner’s Manual for proper lifting techniques.
- Once safely elevated, remove and retain the lug nuts and set aside.
- Remove the wheels and set aside.
3. Remove and retain the outer radius rod fastener with a 21mm socket and a 21mm wrench.
4. Insert a 21mm wrench between the frame and the rear gearcase and pivot the wrench towards the front of the vehicle to gain access to the inner radius rod nut.
5. Remove and retain the inner rod fastener, washer, and nut with a 21mm socket and a 21mm wrench. Set the rod aside.
6. Examine the radius rod shaft and spherical bearings for any wear or damage and replace if necessary.
7. If reusing, clean any dirt or debris using a shop rag.
8. Align the inner portion of the radius rod with the mounting holes in the frame and reinstall the retained fastener and washer through the rear and secure with the retained nut. For non-Sport trim models, ensure the bend on the rod is pointing up.
9. Align the outer portion of the radius rod with the mounting holes on the trailing arm.
10. Reinstall the retained fastener through the rear and secure with the retained nut.
11. Torque the outer radius rod fastener to 133 ft-lbs (180 Nm).
12. Torque the inner radius rod fastener to 52 ft-lbs (70 Nm) with an additional 90 degrees.
13. Ensure the wrench used to gain access to the inner rod nut is removed.
14. Install the wheels on the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts until fully seated.
15. Safely lower the vehicle until the tires begin to touch the ground. This will help keep the wheels in place when torqueing.
16. Once lowered, torque the lug nuts to 148 ft-lbs (200 Nm) in a crisscross pattern.
17. Finally, lower the vehicle completely.
