Gary F. Milton: My name’s Gary Milton. I’m from Wasilla, Alaska, and I won the Ranger 20th Anniversary Ultimate Fishing Experience with David Dudley.
Gary W. Milton: My name is Gary Milton. I’m from Bellingham, Washington, and I’m here to catch more bass than my dad.
When he told me about this, and then he won the contest, I said, “Yeah, I’ll drop everything and come meet you.”
David Dudley: The Miltons don’t know it, but we’re going to have a prize for the smallest fish caught today. I actually have a little pink skirt, so if you catch the smallest one today, you get to wear the pink skirt.
Gary F. Milton: This is a really big bucket-list item for me today. I’m used to fishing for salmon and halibut in Alaska, and the last time I caught a bass was when I was 12 years old.
Come on, fish, fish, fish. That’s what I say when I’m not getting fish. You say it kind of like calling a pig.
David Dudley: You got it.
Gary F. Milton: That’s it.
David Dudley: You know what? I thought I was going to be teaching you something today, and now I just learned something.
Gary F. Milton: I don’t know, so catch that pink skirt.
David Dudley: We just got off the water, and what a memorable day. We caught so many fish. I’ve traveled all over the country, and this has got to be one of my top five memorable moments.
Gary F. Milton: We fished all day, but this afternoon we’re turning up some mud. We’ve got the new Ranger 1000 out from Polaris.
They might say I caught the smallest fish, but in reality, I think Dave Dudley is going to have to fess up to that a little bit. So we’ll have to settle that on the trails this afternoon.
I’ve ridden ATVs most of my life in Alaska — hunting, fishing, and getting off-road. Then a couple of buddies of mine showed up one time with Rangers, and they came into the same area I was going back into. They were able to haul a lot more than I was able to haul, so I ended up buying a Ranger.
I have a place in Seldovia, Alaska. It’s a rural area; you can only fly in or take a boat in. There is one road through town, and that’s about it. So I needed some kind of transportation down there, and I looked around and found a second Ranger.
So we have a Ranger in Seldovia, and we have a Ranger at our place up in Wasilla, Alaska. We use them for hauling fish from the boat, going back down to haul equipment to the boat, and going up into the mountains — up to Red Mountain.
With a Ranger, you can haul more, you can do more. It’s just opened up Alaska for us so much more.
