To adjust and lubricate the drive chain on your model year 2021 and newer RZR 200, follow these steps:
1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface and ensure the parking brake is set.
2. Begin by counter holding, removing and retaining the two chain guard fasteners and nuts with an 8mm socket and 10mm wrench and pulling the guard away to remove.
3. Inspect the entire length of the chain for any wear or damage and replace as needed.
4. Clean any dirt or grit from the chain using a clean cloth. Tip: Avoid using any solvents or degreasers to prevent premature wear.
5. Cover the brake disc with a shop rag to prevent chain lube from coating the disc.
6. Lubricate the chain using Polaris chain lube (part number 2872348) or an SAE 80W-90 chain lubricant.
7. Before continuing, remove the shop rag.
8. Use a tension tool to apply 22 lbs of force to the middle of the drive chain and measure the movement of the chain with a tape measure. A new chain should be between 3/16 inch and 13/32 inch (5–10mm). A broken in chain should be between 13/32 inch and 19/32 inch (10–15mm).
9. If adjustment is needed, remove the cargo box cap in the cargo box to access the upper nut on the chain tensioner bracket.
10. Loosen the upper nut on the chain tensioner bracket with a 19mm socket, but do not remove it.
11. Counter hold and loosen the front engine mount fastener with a 13mm socket and 15mm socket. Tip: Loosening the front engine mount fastener prior to adjusting the chain will help prevent binding.
12. Turn the lower nuts clockwise at half turn increments to increase tension or counterclockwise to decrease tension with an 18mm wrench.
13. Tighten the upper nut until tight.
14. Recheck chain tension after tightening the upper nut and repeat as needed to achieve proper tension.
15. Counter hold and torque the front engine mount fastener to 45 ft-lbs (61 Nm).
16. Torque the upper nut on the chain tensioner bracket to 45 ft-lbs (61 Nm).
17. Reinstall the cargo box cap.
18. Finally, align the chain guard with the mounting holes and reinstall the two retained fasteners and nuts. Torque the fasteners to 35 in-lbs (4 Nm).
