2021+ RZR Trail and Trail S Bumper Installation

The above video demonstrates how to install the Front High Coverage Bumper (0:22) and Rear Bumper Extension (3:04) on your model year 2021 and newer Polaris RZR Trail or Polaris RZR Trail S. Always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves when installing accessories on your Polaris RZR. Before installing any accessories, park the vehicle on a flat, level surface, ensure the vehicle is in PARK and remove the key.

Front High Coverage Bumper Installation
The Front High Coverage Bumper kit is part number 2884732. View the instructions for this kit by searching the Polaris Accessory Installation Instruction Site.

Required Tools and Supplies:

  • T25 TORX® Socket
  • 15mm Socket
  • 17mm Socket
  • 15mm Wrench
  • 18mm Wrench
  • Ratchet
  • Torque Wrench
  • Safety Glasses
  • Nitrile Gloves
  • Shop Rags

To install the front bumper onto your RZR Trail or Trail S, follow these steps:

1. Carefully push down on the two tabs retaining the front grille, and pivot forward and then up to remove from the vehicle.

2. Remove the two fasteners on the bottom of the winch cover with a T25 TORX® socket.

3. Release the two retaining tabs and pull up to remove the cover.

4. Place the support bracket onto the front suspension mount behind the front support bracket. 

5. Align the mounting holes with the front support bracket, and pass the two provided fasteners through the support bracket and mount.

6. Pass the nut plate with the flat side up through the suspension mount and align it with the provided fasteners, and loosely thread into the plate.

7. Position the front of the support bracket into place, and secure the bracket with two fasteners and nuts. With a 15mm socket, torque the fasteners to 40 ft-lbs (54 Nm).

8. With a 15mm socket, torque the bottom mount fasteners to 40 ft-lbs (54 Nm).

9. Carefully reach through the wheel well and hook the backer plate onto the bumper support. Tape may be used to secure the hook of the backer plate to the bumper support to prevent movement when installing the bumper.

10. Align the bottom mounting tabs of the winch cover and tilt the top into place to secure the retention points.

11. Install the two previously removed fasteners, and tighten until fully seated.

12. Align the upper and lower mounting holes on the bumper.

13. Pass the two provided fasteners through the upper bumper and chassis, and loosely install two nuts.

14. Insert the two provided fasteners into the lower bumper and use a 15mm socket to torque to 40 ft-lbs (54 Nm).

15. Once the lower fasteners are secured, use a 17mm socket and 18mm wrench to torque the upper fasteners to 54 ft-lbs (73 Nm).

16. Reinsert the bottom retaining tabs of the grille into the fascia, and pivot the grille inward to lock into place.

Rear Bumper Extension Installation

  • 13mm Socket
  • 15mm Socket
  • 15mm Wrench
  • Ratchet
  • Torque Wrench
  • Safety Glasses
  • Nitrile Gloves
  • Shop Rags

To install the Rear Bumper Extension onto your RZR Trail or Trail S, follow these steps:

1. Using a 15mm socket and wrench, remove and retain the four Rollover Protection Structure (ROPS) fasteners and nuts from the middle of the rear bumper.

2. With the aid of an assistant, align the brush guard with the two intrusion bars.

3. Reinstall the previously removed fasteners through the brush guard bracket and intrusion bar, and loosely secure with the provided nuts.

4. Position the rear clamp and bottom fastener from the inside as an assembly onto the brush guard.

5. Install the outer clamps and upper bolts, and loosely install the two provided nuts.

6. Once in position, torque the four ROPS fasteners to 44 ft-lbs (60 Nm).

7. Using a 13mm socket, torque the four clamp nuts to 16 ft-lbs (22 Nm).
