Polaris Recalls Some Model Year 2024-2025 Ranger XD 1500 and Crew XD 1500 Vehicles

Polaris has determined that the exterior door handle actuators on some Model Year 2024-2025 Ranger XD 1500 and Crew XD 1500 vehicles may stick and cause the door to unexpectedly open while the vehicle is moving and cause an unrestrained rider to be ejected from the vehicle or increase the risk of a crash, posing a risk of serious injury.

Number of affected vehicles: approximately 4,900 units globally

Number of incidents: Polaris has identified 20 reports of doors opening unexpectedly. Polaris has not identified any reports of personal injury or crashes associated with this concern.

Customers should contact an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule the repair.

To help keep customers riding safely in the meantime, we are providing information that will allow consumers to keep riding safely in the meantime. Impacted consumers should follow the Outer Door Latch Verification Instructions. You can find those instructions here. Once a consumer has completed the instructions and confirmed the outer door latches are functioning and returning properly, and continue to do so as the vehicle doors are used and follows the Safety – Owner Requirements section of the owner’s manual (including personal protective equipment, including helmet, and seat belt must be fastened), a consumer may continue to operate their vehicle prior to the repair being completed by a Polaris-authorized dealer.

Polaris is notifying dealers and contacting registered owners directly.

Polaris has reported this matter to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
