Polaris Issues Stop Sale/Stop Ride for Some 2021 GENERAL 1000 and GENERAL XP 1000 Vehicles
Polaris has determined that some Model Year 2021 GENERAL 1000, GENERAL 4 1000, GENERAL XP 1000 and GENERAL XP 4 1000 vehicles may contain a weld between the brake pedal pivot bracket and the EPS mounting bracket that was not produced to specification by the supplier and can separate, which can result in a loss of brake function, posing a crash hazard.
Number of affected vehicles: approximately 1,600 vehicles globally
Number of incidents: Polaris has identified one report of an incorrect weld between the brake pedal pivot bracket and the EPS mounting bracket, which was observed by a Polaris dealer during vehicle set up. No report of crash, injuries or property damage have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the impacted vehicles and contact an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a service appointment.
Polaris is notifying dealers and contacting affected registered owners by mail, phone and email if available. Polaris has reported this matter to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
