Environmental Stewardship
Polaris is working to achieve our 2035 environmental stewardship goals. These goals embody a broad strategy developed to address some of the most relevant environmental stewardship aspects that are meaningful to our business and the communities where we operate, including GHG emission reductions, renewable electricity usage, waste management and water stewardship.
Goupil, France Solar Installation Complete
The solar array at our Goupil facility was completed in 2025, adding more than 3,645 panels across nearly 8,000 square meters. It produces over 1,500,000 kWh annually, generating twice the facility’s energy needs and supplying the excess back to the local grid.
Implementation of Returnable Engine Crates
Teams from multiple facilities quickly developed returnable engine crates, producing more than 3,750 in 2025. The solution reduced nearly 900 tons of dunnage waste while improving warehouse efficiency, with ten empty crates fitting in the space of three single-use crates.
ENERGY ATTRIBUTE CERTIFICATES
Polaris purchases high-quality energy attribute certificates (EACs), used to track renewable energy consumption to supplement our activities when needed. Each EAC represents proof that 1 MWh of renewable energy has been produced and added to the grid.
Global EAC standards for renewable claims are primarily Guarantees of Origin in Europe, RECs in North America and International RECs (I-RECs) in several countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. EACs are compliant with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and are recognized tools for companies to report reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
