Polaris RZR Factory Racing Puts $50,000 on the Line with the SCORE Challenge
Any UTV driver who defeats the four RZR Factory Racing team vehicles and wins the UTV Overall at the SCORE Baja 400 will earn $50,000.Polaris RZR Factory Racing has spent the last three years helping push the Pro UTV class forward in SCORE International competition. The team has raised the pace, brought new attention to the category, and helped turn UTV racing into one of the fastest and most competitive classes in the desert.
Now Polaris is putting a target on its own back.
Introducing the Polaris SCORE Challenge, a first-of-its-kind incentive program built to increase competition, create new rivalries, and bring even more energy to the front of the UTV field.
The challenge is simple:
Any UTV racer, regardless of manufacturer, who defeats the four RZR Factory Racing team vehicles and wins the Overall UTV victory at the SCORE Baja 400 will earn a $50,000 purse from Polaris.
If the purse goes unclaimed at the Baja 400, the challenge will carry over to the Baja 1000, giving competitors another opportunity to claim the prize.
Why Polaris Is Launching the SCORE Challenge
Baja has always been about proving yourself against the best drivers, the toughest terrain, and the most demanding conditions in off-road racing.
For Polaris, racing is more than a result sheet. Every mile is a test. Every race is a proving ground. Every challenge helps inform the next generation of RZR vehicles.
That same mindset helped create the RZR Factory Racing team. Since its debut, the team has consistently set the benchmark in SCORE competition. With drivers Brock Heger, Cayden MacCachren, Ethan Groom, Joe Terrana, and Rodrigo Ampudia, RZR Factory Racing has become the team the rest of the field is chasing.
The SCORE Challenge puts that reality front and center.
“The goal of the SCORE Challenge is to bring more of the top racers and manufacturers back to Baja and create even more opportunities for head-to-head competition at the highest level,” said Alex Scheuerell, Polaris’ Director of Off-Road Motorsports. “When the best teams, drivers and OEMs compete, everyone benefits. The sport grows, the competition gets stronger, and the fans get the racing they want to see.”
How the SCORE Challenge Works
The first SCORE Challenge will take place at the SCORE Baja 400, September 9-13.
To claim the $50,000 purse, an eligible UTV racer must:
- Defeat the four RZR Factory Racing team vehicles
- Win the UTV Overall
- Do it at the SCORE Baja 400, or if unclaimed at the 400, at the Baja 1000
The challenge is open to UTV racers regardless of manufacturer, creating a direct opportunity for competitors across the field to take on the RZR Factory Racing team and claim one of the sport’s newest high-stakes prizes.
The Target Is Set
Just as Polaris continues to push the industry forward through vehicle innovation, the SCORE Challenge is designed to push the sport forward on the racecourse.
It gives racers another reason to line up. It gives manufacturers another reason to compete. It gives fans a clear storyline to follow.
Can anyone take down RZR Factory Racing and win the UTV Overall? That question now comes with $50,000 on the line.
With the challenge set, the SCORE Baja 400 marks the first opportunity for the industry’s top competitors to take on RZR Factory Racing and claim the prize.
The target is set. The purse is on the line. Now we find out who is ready to take the challenge.
