Angelisa Edwards
State: British Columbia
Snowmobile: Patriot Boost RMK Khaos 155
Favorite Place to Ride: Whistler, BC
Angelisa loves snowmobiling because it gives her the chance to ride with her favorite people and explore her backyard while challenging herself in different terrain mentally and physically. It has become her outlet, her passion and her drive.
Snowmobiling has taught Angelisa the importance of longevity, and always being prepared in every way possible. The best feeling in the world is spending a day in the backcountry but more importantly, coming home to her family to hug her daughters and husband at the end of the day. It gives her the opportunity to be free yet appreciate all that is here for her.
Snowmobiling has become her expression, and her art. She is the creator and founder of Braap Babes, a supporting group who gather women together for fun social rides in the Sea to Sky corridor, here in British Columbia. Bridging the gaps between snowmobile clinics to seat time, social rides encourage women to come out, practice their skills learnt from the pros and meet other women that are at a similar riding level.
Angelisa created a place and space for herself and likes to call this a self care day. She believes the importance of skill building and bonding relationships with like-minded women while staying safe. Braap Babes social rides instill confidence, build relationships and raise funds for Snowarama - Easter Seals. Snowmobiling means all of this to Angelisa and so much more. An identity, a self care day, a day to remember, a day to meet more friends, a day to get a ton of stucks, a day to learn more, and most importantly a day to be grateful for what life has to offer.
Due to unfortunate world wide events (global pandemic) Angelisa learned new ways to connect women for women in the snowmobile industry. She decided to move her social gathering online, creating "Throttle Talk Tuesdays" on instagram live, connecting influential women athletes who are making impacts on other women in the industry. Not only does Angelisa host these throttle talks, but she hosts a podcast where you can listen in on these conversations and stories from women athletes along with branding athletes to positive mindsets in all things motorized sports.
Angelisa doesn't stop there, she has also produced the first ever women's snowmobile and dirt bike digital magazines. You can find these free magazines on her website braapbabes.com and here you can read more on your favourite athlete and other stories, tricks and tips that women have to offer.
Last but not least, Angelisa also produces women's only snowmobile films. "I believe that women athletes deserve so much more. More recognition, more promotion and more hype! I created a platform and a community where women athletes can have a voice and have an audience that will listen."
To say Angelisa is passionate, is an understatement. She wants to know it all, be it all and do it all and this is what snowmobiling has done for her.
