To remove and install the battery on your 2023+ ProStar S4 TITAN Adventure, follow these steps:
1. Park the snowmobile on a flat, level surface and remove the key.
2. Lift the seat latch and remove the seat.
3. Remove the two battery cover fasteners (2). Remove the cover (3).
4. Disconnect the black (negative) battery cable first.
5. Disconnect the red (positive) cable last.
6. Remove the battery from the battery box.
7. Clean out the inside of the battery tray with a clean cloth.
8. If reinstalling the battery, ensure it is fully charged and free of any debris or damage. Follow the instructions in the Battery Charging section of your Owner’s Manual before installing the battery.
If replacing the battery, replace with part number 4014609.
9. Carefully install the battery into the snowmobile.
10. Place the battery cover on the battery bracket.
11. Secure the two battery cover screws. Torque to 9 ft-lbs (12 Nm).
12. Connect and tighten the positive (red) cable to the positive terminal first. Torque to 36 in-lbs (4 Nm).
13. Connect and tighten the negative (black) cable to the negative terminal last. Torque to 36 in-lbs (4 Nm).
Caution: Verify the battery cables and wiring harness do not come into contact with the brake disc. Move the wiring harness/cables behind the chassis tube and away from the brake disc.
14. Route the harness ground wires (1), main battery ground cable (2) and positive (red) battery cable (3) as shown in the image. Both are routed up and over the rubber strap. If the ground wires/cable are routed down the side of the battery, they may interfere with the tab of the rear side panel. Item (4) is the constant power fuse connector.
15. Verify the cables are properly routed.
16. Re-install the seat. Ensure it latches securely.
17. Start the snowmobile to verify the battery has been connected properly.
