Matryx Windshield Installation

The above video demonstrates how to install a low windshield (0:20) and tall windshield (1:05) on a Polaris Matryx snowmobile. Before installing any accessories, ensure the snowmobile is parked on a flat level surface and remove the key. Always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves when servicing your Polaris snowmobile. 

Matryx Low Windshield Installation
The low windshield for Matryx snowmobiles is available in Sky Blue (part number 2884936-737), Polaris Blue (part number 2884936-751), Orange (part number 2884936-647), Gloss Black (part number 2884936-266) and Indy Red (part number 2884936-293).

Tools Required:

  • Safety Glasses
  • Nitrile Gloves
  • Shop Rags

To install the low windshield onto your Matryx snowmobile, follow these steps:

1. Pull the windshield retainers straight out firmly on the top and working toward the middle until the windshield is free.

2. Place the new windshield into position, ensuring the mounting tabs align with the grommets on the hood. Spraying the grommets with soapy water may help with installation.

3. Firmly press in on all tabs, working front to back to ensure the windshield is secured.

Matryx Tall Windshield Installation 
The tall windshield for Matryx snowmobiles is part number 2884935

Tools Required:

  • Flat-Head Screwdriver
  • Safety Glasses
  • Nitrile Gloves
  • Shop Rags

To install the tall windshield onto your Matryx Snowmobile, follow these steps:

1. Pull the windshield retainers straight out firmly on the top and work toward the middle until the windshield is free.

2. Carefully pry out the side mount caps from the hood on each side of the sled with a flat-head screwdriver. 

3. Install the low windshield onto the tall windshield, ensuring the molded stems fully protrude through the slots in the windshield.

4. Secure by installing the supplied retainers until they reach the bottom of the stem.

5. With a flat-head screwdriver, double check to ensure the retainers are fully seated. 

6. Install the supplied rubber grommets into the mounting location where the rubber plugs were previously removed from on each side of the sled. Spraying the grommets with soapy water may help with installation.

7. Continue by placing the windshield into position, ensuring the mounting tabs align with the mounting slots on the hood.

8. Firmly press in on all tabs, firmly working front to back to ensure the windshield is secured.
