Mikaela Grönlund
Hometown: Vilhelmina, Sweden
Born and raised in Vilhelmina, Sweden, she grew up surrounded by mountains, forests, and a family passionate about snowmobiling. She first rode a sled at just three years old, and the sport has been at the center of her life ever since. Today, her greatest passions are mountain and backcountry riding.
Her competitive journey began at age 14 in Snocross, inspired by her older brother's racing career. Over time, she developed a deep love for technical riding and backcountry terrain, while also competing in hillclimb, snocross, drag racing, and watercross events across Scandinavia. She has also competed in North American hillclimb events against some of the sport's top riders. While racing remains close to her heart, her primary focus today is mountain and backcountry riding, alongside continued hillclimb competition.
What drives her most is the freedom, adrenaline, and endless progression that comes with riding. Whether mastering a new technique or pushing her limits in the mountains, she thrives on continual improvement. Just as important is the snowmobiling community, which has allowed her to build lasting friendships and connections around the world.
Together with her mother, she helps lead Eir of Sweden, an organization that has spent more than a decade teaching women technical backcountry riding skills. Through clinics and mentorship, they empower riders to build confidence, develop their abilities, and discover what they're capable of both on and off the snow.
When she's not riding, she spends as much time outdoors as possible. Hunting, hiking, and exploring the mountains are a huge part of her life, and she feels most at home in nature. Family and friends remain at the center of everything she does.
Driven by a mindset of continual growth, she is committed to learning, improving, and embracing every adventure along the way. Most of all, she hopes to inspire others to experience the freedom, challenge, and community that make snowmobiling so special. Through riding, racing, teaching, and exploring, she continues to chase new adventures while sharing her passion with others.

What's the one snowmobiling destination every rider should visit and why?
"I can’t choose one. I’d have to say Revelstoke, McCall, Idaho, and Alpine, Wyoming. Each place offers something different, but they all have incredible terrain, deep snow, and some of the best mountain riding you can find. There’s so much to explore, and every trip pushes you to become a better rider. For me, it’s the combination of the riding, the scenery, and the adventure with good people that makes these places so special. Every rider should experience them at least once."
