Ty Desrochers
Date of Birth: February 25, 1998
Hometown: Turtle Valley, BC.
Ty’s roots for snowmobiling run deep. He hasn’t missed a single season of riding snow machines since his old man put him on a Polaris 120 at the age of two.
Coming from a middle-class household, Ty was never on the latest and greatest of hardware as a grom. In fact, most times the machine was 20+ years old and required a slurp of fuel in the cylinder to fire for the first time of the day. Nevertheless, each time his dad brought him into the mountains, the smiles were endless, and the memories lasted a lifetime.
Ty says his favorite thing about sledding is that there are so many different facets to it. For this reason, it takes a very long time and a lot of dedication to become a well-rounded rider. Between reading slopes and terrain, analyzing snowpacks and weather patterns, dangling trees, and managing air awareness on inverts, it really is a sport that involves a diverse skill set. Every day he gets out on his snowmobile, he looks forward to progressing his skills in one way or another.
