Kyle’s snowmobile journey started at age 4 or 5 when a family friend brought over a Polaris 120. He immediately pinned the throttle and nearly crashed into the garage - his dad saved him with a last-second 180. That scare kept his parents from buying him a sled, but he was hooked.

By age 9 or 10, Kyle’s dad told him, “If you want to ride, figure out how to get them running.” So he did - dragged out their old sleds, watched YouTube, cleaned the carbs, and got his mom’s ’92 INDY running. Within an hour, he crashed into a tree. He thought he was in trouble, but his dad just grinned and said, “If you’re gonna ride ’em, you’re gonna wreck ’em. Just fix ’em.”

At 12, Kyle bought his own sled and rode thousands of miles on machines most people would’ve junked. Word got out he could fix them, and soon he was running a repair operation out of his dad’s shop - sleds lined up, wrenching before school, sometimes skipping sleep.

At 16, Kyle bought a brand-new 2015 Switchback Assault and joined a hometown group on a mountain trip which started his journey with mountain snowmobiling. By 18, he booked a trip to Chris Burandt’s. He couldn’t afford it, so he slept in his truck and brought his own food. He ended up riding with Chris, helped out in the shop, and was offered a job. That led to seven years of guiding, racing, wrenching, and learning from legends.

Now, Kyle is working hard to make snowmobiling his full-time career. It’s never been about a plan - just passion. He’ll keep pushing until it all falls into place.
