Environmental Health and Safety Assistant to support manufacturing. Primary function of the EHSS Technician is to support the role of the EHSS Manager and/or Specialist to facilitate the operation of a manufacturing facility with world class safety performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
¨ Maintain a strong floor presence to drive EHS culture and safe behaviors.
¨ Support incident investigations, corrective/preventative action follow-up, and incident documentation.
¨ Deliver EHS training and maintain training documents and files.
¨ Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly EHS inspections and input data gathered into spreadsheets/databases.
¨ Perform ergonomic evaluations (HumanTech) and assist with related action planning.
¨ Participate in EHS related projects as needed and identified based on facility priorities or departmental needs.
¨ Coordinate delivery of PPE and installation of facility safety supplies (first aid kits, eye wash stations, etc.)
¨ Help drive Value Improvement Process (VIP) savings throughout the facility.
¨ Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge
¨ Position requires a self-motivated individual who can perform multiple tasks.
¨ Proficient at MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
¨ Good record keeping and organization skills.
¨ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
¨ High tolerance of change and willingness to adapt to changing objectives/directives.
¨ Record of high performance and proven strength in behaviors consistent with the Polaris Values, personal integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
¨ High school diploma or GED required.
¨ Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, crouch, walk, climb stairs, twist/bend upper body.
¨ Preferred: 1-3 years manufacturing experience.
¨ Preferred: 1-3 years of EHS experience (ex. ergonomics, first responder, incident investigation, safety committee, training, etc.).
Ability to work 2nd shift (split shift likely) on a regular basis with overtime work as necessary.
70% of workday will be in production areas of the facility.
