
Polaris Recalls Some Model Year 2023-2024 Ranger XP Kinetic and Model Year 2025 Pro XD Kinetic Vehicles
>Polaris has determined that on some Model Year 2023-2024 Ranger XP Kinetic vehicles and Model Year 2025 Pro XD Kinetic vehicles, a crack may develop on a component within the vehicle's charging system, potentially allowing water to contact high voltage charging harness components. If this occurs, a short circuit may develop while the vehicle is being charged, which could result in a fire and pose a risk of severe injury.
Number of affected vehicles: approximately 7,100 units globally
Number of incidents: Polaris has identified 39 reports of cracks on a component within the vehicle’s charging system, including 6 reports of melting/fire and 3 reports of sparking/smoke. Polaris has not identified any reports of personal injury or property damage associated with this concern.
Polaris is currently evaluating a comprehensive action plan to correct this concern at no cost to consumers and will contact affected consumers once determined. Do not attempt any repairs yourself.
As Polaris develops the repair for this concern, consumers are advised to take the following steps to continue operating their vehicles:

Due to this identified safety concern, do not wash the vehicle, or operate/park the vehicle in rain, snow, or standing water.

Charge your vehicle outside. As a reminder, connect the EVSE wall plug directly into the outlet. Never use any device between this connection (e.g., extension cords, grounding adapters, multi-outlet splitters or power strips, surge protectors, timers, or smart home adapters).

Upon plugging in the vehicle, monitor initial charging for charging errors or noises. If a charging error occurs, unplug the vehicle, and do not attempt any further charging. Contact your dealer to have the vehicle inspected.
This concern also affects Polaris accessory high voltage charging harnesses.
Polaris is notifying dealers and contacting registered owners directly.
Polaris has reported this matter to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
