Polaris Recalls Some Model Year 2022-2025 MATRYX Snowmobiles Equipped With PATRIOT 650 & PATRIOT 850 Engines

Polaris has determined that some Model Year 2022-2025 MATRYX Snowmobiles equipped with PATRIOT 650 & PATRIOT 850 engines can have an increased risk of primary (drive) clutch failure due to post cracking. The failure can cause the clutch or clutch components to be separated from the unit, posing a potential injury hazard to consumers.

Polaris is expanding the recall population; certain consumers whose units were previously repaired may require a second repair. Polaris is notifying dealers and registered owners directly. Consumers should immediately stop using the impacted units and contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair, if needed. Do not attempt any repairs yourself.

“Rider safety is our top priority,” said Jenny Nack, Vice President and General Manager, Polaris Snow. “This includes continually monitoring performance to help catch potential safety issues, which this expanded recall demonstrates. We have a solution and are working with consumers and our dealers to make this right.”

Number of affected vehicles: approximately 21,160 units globally

Number of incidents: Polaris has identified 133 reports of clutch failure, including twelve reports where the clutch components separated from the unit. Polaris is aware of two reports of personal injury associated with this concern.

This concern also affects clutch service parts. If the clutch on your vehicle has been replaced with part number 1323613 or 1323614, it is also affected. Your Polaris dealer will contact you if your unit has an affected service part.

To search off-road recalls by model or vehicle identification number (VIN) to see if your unit is affected by any recalls, visit the Off-Road Safety Recalls page or call Polaris at 800-765-2747.

*Polaris issued a Stop Sale, Stop Ride on July 13, 2023, following our notification to the CPSC. On January 18, 2024, Polaris expanded the affected vehicle population.
