Job Summary:
In this role you will lead the International financial processes to support business objectives, including financial planning to deliver strong, risk-balanced plans for continued business growth. This person will lead the assessment and reporting on business plan performance, as well as recommending actions to identify value creation opportunities and improve business outcomes. Reports directly to the Vice President, Finance – International & Shared Services, while working closely to support Senior Director, Finance for EMEA & Asia Pacific, while directly interacting with global business unit (GBU) finance teams, GBU business partners, & International leadership teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
Consolidate the International Sales long range plan, annual budget, quarterly forecasts/outlooks, monthly operating reviews, capital/headcount planning, and inventory/SIOP planning.
Monitor and track the performance to plan and communicate financial opportunities in revenue, margin, operating expenses, capital, headcount, and inventory
Facilitate financial review meetings with business groups and work with business managers to ensure effective financial performance and cost management
Complete complex business modeling and analysis to drive revenue growth, identify operating improvements, deep dive on cost structures and analyze business opportunities/investments (ROI/NPV)
Drive financial discipline and capital allocation decisions that generate stronger working capital and positive cash flow
Work cross-functionally with GBUs/Operations/Engineering finance to maintain alignment and drive positive outcomes
Assist management and corporate business development in M&A activities as required
General Accounting & Financial Management Reporting
Manage efficient, timely, and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes from data collection, analysis, accounting, and reporting
Lead the review, consolidation, and interpretation of financial reports and monthly management reporting to be used by International leadership, corporate Finance, and senior Polaris leadership teams
Completes and reviews monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and checklists
Owns reporting deliverables, including P&L reports by GBU and geographic region versus budget, forecast and prior year
Owns deferred profit planning, monitoring, and management, including budget/forecast and month end close procedures
Ensure balance sheet reserves (warranty, logistics, legal, inventory, A/R, promo, and flooring programs) are adequate to support future projected liabilities and lead the timely and accurate analysis on a quarterly basis
Lead the preparation of the quarterly reserve review materials with input from the regional finance teams
Coordinate documentation and review of processes for Sarbanes/Oxley section 404 requirements
Understand key principles of intercompany accounting, deferred profit, and eliminations
Finance Continuous Improvement
Maintain a detailed understanding of financial reporting, information technology, data integrity, and emerging fraud risks, along with risk mitigation strategies in place
Work with International team to analyze strategic/tactical investments and pricing strategies
Effective balance sheet management to drive efficient asset utilization that maximizes profit
Participate to tax and cash optimization strategic plans and execution
Other ad-hoc projects as assigned
Team Management & Collaboration
Attract, lead, and develop teams to achieve high engagement, strong team and individual performance and depth of talent to meet Polaris’ growth
Set department and individual goals; monitor progress to company, departmental and individual goals. Manage workload, evaluate resource requirements, and provide guidance to the team.
Work with analyst team on monthly inventory and currency reporting and daily ship/revenue reports
Liaison to corporate / subsidiaries relating to legal, banking, insurance, warranty, and financial systems
Develop and maintain relationships within IS and Supply Chain; solicit feedback, drive KPI reporting, and provide closed loop communication system to enhance quality and cost of service
Works closely with International logistics team to assist in ad-hoc analysis, driving logistics efficiencies and develop logistics Budgets/Forecasts
Skills and Experience:
Finance leader with experience building and leading an organization in a multi-division environment
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred; CPA or MBA a plus; International experience a plus
7+ years’ experience in finance/accounting positions of growing responsibility required
Experience coordinating financial processes such as divisional or corporate budgets/forecasts is required
Experience with leading and conducting monthly closing of financials and generating financial reporting packages for senior management
Experience using and implementing financial processes/tools such as OneStream, Alteryx, and Power BI
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
Self-starter with the ability to identify and proactively resolve business issues.
Excellent influencing and leadership skills; “hands-on” active participative leadership style
Experience communicating, reporting and influencing executive leadership
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships in a matrix environment with multiple customers and evaluators.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives at once.
Detail oriented, possess deep analytical skills, and strong business acumen
