Job Summary

As an Infotainment Test Engineer you will be responsible with the development and implementation of test and programming strategies as well as the associated equipment for the production of vehicle displays, gauges, and instrumentation. This role has no direct reports. This role is onsite reporting into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager within Operations at Battle Ground, Washington.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with the product teams’ electrical and system engineers to develop software loading, integration and system testing for the production environment.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software design teams to develop firmware and software loading of PCBAs in a production environment.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software design teams to develop board level functional testing using a modular systems approach in a production environment and generate automated reports to track results.
  • Coordinate with controls engineers for production line data management related to device testing.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of processes, tools, standards, and training used by the team.
  • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Other engineering duties as required

Required Skills, Experience, & Education

  • 5+ years’ experience in electrical and computer programming.
  • B.S. or higher in Engineering (College diploma) required; Electrical (College diploma), software (College diploma), Computer (College diploma) or related desired
  • Experience with communication networks required, CAN, UDS, and J1939
  • Embedded hardware and electronic circuit experience
  • Experience in testing of Digital and Analog/Mixed signal circuits
  • Experience using measurement and test instruments such as DAQ, oscilloscope, power supplies and other module-based test equipment
  • Experience designing and analyzing test procedures
  • Proficiency with measurement automation tools and scripting languages such as Python
  • Familiarity and experience working with, Gigabit Ethernet, FPD link, CAN, SPI, I2C, LIN, RS232

Preferred Skills, Experience, & Education

  • Experience in project management strongly preferred
  • Experience with DFMEA, SFMEA, and Functional Safety strongly desired
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced development environment
  • Experience in effective problem solving and troubleshooting methods
  • Ability to generate test cases to validate product requirements
  • Experience with software V&V efforts including MIL/SIL, unit testing, and related documentation
  • Familiarity with requirement and test Case Management in any requirement/software development database application as well as configuration management preferred.
  • Hands on experience using electrical test and assembly equipment
  • Automotive or off-road vehicle electrical system knowledge preferred but not required
  • Travel (domestic or international) may be required
