Polaris is seeking a Supervisor of Control Systems team members. This position will lead, direct, and monitor design and development of control system programs from concept to production to achieve product objectives on a specified schedule. As a supervisor, you will be leading a highly motivated, cross-functional team of Systems Engineers while continuously mentoring and growing the team’s overall skillsets. We are looking for an individual who can act as the technical lead - accountable for delivering the control system design, development, and implementation. Additionally, this position will be responsible for developing and/or implementing common processes, tools, and methods for the team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Lead controls team members to meet project specification performance, quality, and reliability requirements.
•Interface with the architects, subsystem SME’s, attribute owners, and durability/reliability team to ensure all requirements are captured prior to design execution
•Grow and develop the team including gap analysis, recruitment plans, and career path planning.
•Manage resource plans to ensure proper support is planned and allocated to active programs. Coordinate issue resolution with functional managers.
•Direct development using the Polaris Development Process (PDP), ensuring that all requirements are clearly defined, documented, and achieved.
•Develop and support the validation efforts of each program, including vehicle level testing, system level testing, feature validation and integration, and calibration of features
•Collaborate with suppliers to use their design expertise where appropriate.
•Motivate the entire team ensuring cross-functional program success.
•Assist functional managers to plan budgets and manpower forecasts.
•Participate in the system architecture and feature roadmap development and deployment of key technologies.
•Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
•BS Engineering Degree, or equivalent, required. Preference for Electrical Engineering degree
•Minimum of 5+ years of Engineering Process and Product Development, in a similar industry.
•3+ years of Engineering Leadership / Supervision desired.
•Experience growing and leading teams.
•Strong technical background.
•Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability.
•Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
•Decisive and prone to action. Must be quality-oriented and customer focused.
•Strong planning, organizing, and administrative skills.
•Experiences with budget management and aptitude for financial acumen.
•Technical experience in electrical system and subsystem development
•Leading/training of others how program objectives, tools, and resources relate cross-functionally.
Fast paced, dynamic culture in an office environment with regular multi-site interactions.
Based out of Wyoming, MN Location.
Ability and interest to work in a development shop/lab environment as needed.
Some travel required, typically <20%.
