A Proud American Company Since 1954

Still Calling Minnesota Home

Polaris Inc. was born in 1954 out of American grit and ingenuity. Our founders, Edgar and Allan Hetteen and David Johnson, used their skilled hands and collective creativity to assemble the first Polaris snowmobile from parts in their machine shop. That pioneering spirit has continued to drive Polaris forward  over the last 70 years evolving from a snowmobile manufacturer to creating products that help people enjoy the outdoors whether on sand, trail, road snow, dirt or water.  We are proud of what we have accomplished, and our US-based design, engineering and testing are core to our vision and strategy for the future.

Our Passion, Your "Toughest" Ride

They say it takes 10,000 hours to master something. At Polaris, we’ve been honing our craft for over 70 years—and we’re just getting started. Our relentless pursuit of quality drives us to consistently innovate, making each new vehicle tougher than the last.

No matter how far we've come, we’ll always strive for more. Because tough doesn't settle. Tough doesn't back down. Just like you, tough doesn't quit—and neither do we.

Polaris Proud

We have some of the best and brightest people in the world using their passion and knowhow to build right here in America. We believe in strengthening our U.S. operations for the next generation of American workers by continuing to invest in our U.S. facilities in Huntsville, Alabama and Roseau, Minnesota.  Our great products and brands provide a strong foundation for growth, but our people and our culture constitute our real competitive advantage.
