INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DISPLAY DIED
Hi: I recently purchased this UTV that I love. Unfortunately, after a strenuous effort to get the UTV out of a hole, the LCD display died. Totally! I changed the fuse and that wasn’t it. The UTV is under warranty, but I have to rent a trailer to drive 2 hours to the dealer. This is unfortunate!

Ranger 1000 Chore Machine
I live on acreage and I use my Ranger 1000 for all sorts of chores nearly every day. The power is adequate for pulling trailers and having fun when I’m not working. Smooth ride with the soft suspension and the improved seats are much better than the previous model I had. My only complaint is the silly design of the fenders which taper in to the tires. The tires spray mud all over the fenders any time I use the machine after a rain. Not sure what the design team was thinking when they designed the fenders. My previous Ranger adequately kept mud from spraying on the sides of the vehicle, but my new machine gets filthy even driving thru wet grass. Haven’t been able to find any aftermarket fender flares that look good.

Awesome
I’ve owned my Ranger 1000 for a couple months and it has been awesome! Everything has performed very well except there is a delay when pushing the gas pedal. Once you put it in low gear there is a lot of play in the pedal until the transmission kicks in. It also does it in reverse. Not sure if that is normal and from what I’ve been told it is. I am no mechanic. It definitely has been fun to play with as well as use it on the farm. I highly recommend this.

Pretty good machine
My 2020 ranger 1000. Is a pretty nice machine easy to get in and out of. Ride is good. Power is good. There are a few cons the biggest being the exaust temp when u run it down the rod or on a trail hard the header pipe is glowing cherry red. HOT!! WInd shield was not put in correct and won’t shut. 600 miles in and the engine is making a ticking noise at a idle. Not sure I would trade my 900 in for it again if I had the chance to go back in time

I use it several times a week however only after 39 miles the turf mode works intermittently sometimes it won’t move unless I put it in 4 wheel drive also it has a popping noise in the rear end. Also got a recall for a fuel line update right after I bought it. I have to return it to the dealer for warranty work as soon as i can

Had a 2020 570 before this and it was a terrible machine. Front differential vibration and noise. The first chance we had we traded in for this 1000 premium and it's a night and day difference. Plenty of power and extremely comfortable. Couldn't be happier. My only regret is I should have spent the extra money in the beginning and never purchased the 570. Spend the extra and buy this 1000 premium you won't be disappointed.

When I got BIG RED I was expecting to use it for some task around the home and land that we just purchased in WV. My brother in law said that in a month that you will wonder how you have lived with one for so long well it didn't take a month for that to happen. The Ranger EPS 1000 has exceeded all of my expectations and has out performed any off road vehicle that I have owned. I must admit that my Pickup truck sits around a lot more that it used to and is not as fun to drive as the Ranger so in short it the best money that I have ever spent. Thanks

Awesome machine!!
This is our second Ranger we have purchased for our farm. The first one we bought in 2002. The reliability and usefulness is why we bought a new one. So far my only complaint is I would like to see a parking break. We live in West Virginia and parking on hillsides is common but seems to be pretty hard on the transmission. With no more warranty that you get I am very concerned about the longevity of the park feature.

We upgrade after owning a Ranger 400 for almost ten years. And this Ranger only raises the bar in my opinion. We use our new 1000 almost every day for farm work, gathering firewood and hunting tasks. The comfort of the Ranger is outstanding even with full adults. And it definitely doesn't lack any power what so ever. We gladly encourage our friends to take a serious look at a Ranger when shopping for a side by side.

Buckatunna Long Creek Hunting Club - Polaris Range
I use my new Polaris at the hunting camp. The biggest issue that I have is - two members purchases Honda’s and they’re able to get to locations on the club that I cannot (without getting stuck). I’m also disappointed that Polaris isn’t utilizing LED lights on 2021 models (really should be standard). The paint on the exhaust shield peeled off right away. This isn’t an issue — just looks bad on a new buggy.

We use our ranger quite a bit, we bought it brand new a few months ago. It slips out of high range quite a bit when coming to a stop and coasting though, dealership has it now trying to find the issue. It slipped out of high range the day we brought it in but I thought it was because we didn’t push the gear lever firm enough, that’s not the case.

Disappointing
I have had my ranger for around 3 months. Less than 20 hours on it. While riding down a dirt road a tire went flat. There was no hole in the tire. A hole inside the rim was the culprit. It is not be being warranted and dealership told me I would need to upgrade to 14” rims from the factory 12” in order to not have the issue again. Shouldn’t have to buy upgraded parts to use the bike as intended.

I bought this in January for moving cut up wood around the property to the area we have for splitting and stacking. I used to use a pick up truck, but this allows me to get to more remote areas and tighter spaces. The power steering is fantastic and makes it easy for my wife and granddaughter to use the ranger for yard work and moving seed and fertilizer. It's the perfect vehicle for our needs.

I Use the Ranger for hunting and recreational purposes. Have had nothing but problems with this machine from day one. First day of purchase, blew radiator hoses. Lost all antifreeze and machine overheated miles from home. Guess they forgot to put hose clamp on at the assembling factory. Have had problems with it ever since. Have to have antifreeze with me in case the machine overheats.

Much quicker than my Kubota utv only real complaint is the noise it has when it is not in 4 we. It will only appears in 2 or 1 wheel drive I was told it was a known problem by Polaris and it is being worked on. You do not have “room” at the dealership to get up to speed to hear it. I am told it is not damaging the unit but it sounds terrible. If I knew of th issue it may have influenced my purchasing decision

love the newness of my new 1000 Ranger
I just really like the difference in this machine versus my 2010. Noticeable increase in power. I probably like having power steering more than any of the features though. Probably my only disappointment is that I've tried to find seat covers for this unit and they're not available for the Ranger XP 1000 base unit. With the full width 1 piece back on the base unit I've learned you can't find them so I have to buy the whole kit and only be able to use the seat bottoms portion of the kit because the back rest comes in 60/40 split and I don't have 60/40 back rest so I'm wasting a little money. My dog loves to ride so I have to have seat covers to protect the seats.

I’ve had my Ranger for 3 months & have put about 2800 miles on it. I use it for ranch work. The clutches aren’t working right & the front driveshaft is very loose on the splines of the front differential. The cab leaks plenty of rain even when not being driven. The machine has lots of power & I like the redesigned dash.

Quality frustration
I bought my XP1000 in May and have been reluctant to do this survey. I traded my 2014 XP900 for this one and quite frankly wish I hadn't. My confidence in the quality of parts took a big hit. First I'm regretting purchasing the super expensive 3 position windshield that rattles uncontrollably in the open position. Polaris won't stand behind it. I recently took my XP1000 in for its first maintenance and find I have a busted rear axle. I use my new Ranger the same way I used my 2014 XP900 and had zero problems with it. Guess what? Polaris won't cover the broken axle either...

Broke down in garage with only 6 hours on it...
I bought this UTV because it seemed to have good power, hauling and towing capability and would certainly handle the hilly terrain of my property... Bought it back in mid November mostly to climb the steep driveway to get the mail and to haul a few bags of trash on pick-up day. It climbed hills pretty good with sufficient power... Was thinking about getting the snow plow set-up for it... However, here it is, the first major winter storm and the first time I actually need it, it is broken down in my garage... Will not shift properly... Shift lever moves in all positions freely, but the transmission will not change gears... Probably shift linkage... Only has 6 hours/11 miles on it... Sent email to dealer through their website... Haven't heard back yet after three days... (To be fair, they are probably closed due to weather conditions...) Was hoping for better reliability than this...

Polaris went backwards with the NEW Ranger
The dust is horrible compared to the last 2 Rangers I've owned. Seat belt retractor stopped working the day I brought it home. Tons of drive line noises and vibrations. Jerky clutching while descending a hill slow in any mode with it in Low or High. Took the zerk fittings out of the a-arms so already a lot of squeaking. Should have bought something else.

Ultimate Toy!
This is the second Ranger I’ve now had. First one was a 2015 and bullet proof. I love the full cab surprisingly for summer time more then I thought, the AC is really amazing!
Only had one issue so far and that’s with the Pulse Bars. I’ve added some Polaris accessories to spice my ride up a bit with some speakers, plow controls and many more! Only down side is something in the machine keeps causing a malfunction resulting in loss of all accessory power and a trip back to the dealership for a couple weekends now. Usually get 10 minutes of ride time before it malfunctions.
Moral of the story is don’t cheap out! SPEND the extra $2,500 upgrade to the ultimate, don’t bother trying to make an Ultimate out of a Premium!

Great features and power
Bought my Ranger Xp 1000 back in April. It has been worth every penny, especially during the Covid-19 crisis. I can't think of many other ways to get out for some recreation. Camping and riding are all about distancing from other people and is great for mental health! Here at home my Polaris makes working on my two acre lot a lot easier. It really comes in handy when checking the farm property. This purchase was my second Polaris Ranger. The first one was a 2007 700 XP. It is still running great!

Does not live up to price
Considering the price I had to pay for my new Ranger, I must say it does not live up to what I paid for it. Had to return it to get the clutch adjusted properly which only shows poor quality control. One of my primary reasons for buying the Polaris Ranger was the tight cab system, however, after operating it in the rain a few times, it has leaked water in the upper right and left hand corners of the front window. For the price, I am severely disappointed. For the price I paid, EVERYTHING should work properly and the quality should be on par with the automotive industry and I should not have to run back and forth to the dealership at my own expense to keep getting things corrected.

Perfect for us!
We live in Minnesota lakes country where our Ranger is legal on all County roads and all of the towns and villages near us. We opt for the Ranger on any journey, be it a late night ice cream run to the Cormorant Village or a gas can run to the local pump for boat gas. Our 16 year old daughter loves to ride where ever we go, family bonus time!! We have a premium cab with heat and on those cold summer night rides back from friends houses, the heat is on. Without the doors! Just enough to take the chill out of the cab. Doors are going on again soon, fall is in the air. We are fast approaching 1,500 miles and the Maxxis OE tires are showing little to no wear. A good share of our riding is on pavement, but we have tested our Ranger in a variety of conditions. Our first journey with our new Ranger was to the Black Hills and we were blown away by the capabilities. From mud, to rocks, to literally scary technical terrain our Ranger just flat out performed. The great staff at Wheels Inc in Fargo, ND set us up with this unit. The Sales staff, Parts team and Service crew are top notch!!

Great sxs!!! Love the heat & A/C.
Purchased this in late November and I have been very pleased w/ it. The heat and a/c have worked great!!! The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star rating is due to the following items on it I am disappointed with. 1. Leaking windshield 2. Cab noise (seems loud to me) 3. Clutch engagement is lurchy when taking off 4. Ignition switch needs a accessory position (other Polaris sxs have it). 5. Seat isn't near as comfortable as my General seat was that I traded in. Other than those 5 things it has been an excellent sxs for me so far. I really enjoy it!!!

Good Ride but poor seat comfort
I have owned different types and brands of ATV's, SxS's, Utility Vehicles for over 25 years. This is my first Polaris and I bought the 1000 Ranger based on positive reviews and dealer advice of ride comfort. The vehicle does ride excellent but the seat configuration (3 passenger bench seat) makes it uncomfortable if riding longer than 1 hour. If there is an option for seat comfort, this would be a perfect vehicle.

Terrific working machine as well as fun machine
I've had the ranger for three months on my new property in the mountains I used it as a little pickup daily as well as the winch for moving things around. I've had no problems with it, maybe consumes a bit more gasoline than I expected, has great power handles fantastic on the trails - a little tippy when fully (over) loaded with wet logs. Lots of accessories available from third parties. Looks great too. Haven't owned it long enough to make a good guess about the reliability . Handling could be better if it had multiple modes there are ways to adjust the springs but that's insufficient and too difficult to address the extremes of hardcore off-road use and work around the farm.

Great features for work and play in all weather.
Ranger is used for snow removal on farm driveway and trails. My wife and I also go for frequent rides around farm and also around surrounding area roads for sightseeing. So nice to be comfortable in all conditions.
My only objections so far are too much cab noise and hard starting on off road farm tank gas. I learned that this machine requires fresh highest octane gas which is a pain considering the gas must be transported in 5 gallon cans when needed and is more expensive. Would give 5 stars but for these issues. No close by gas stations where I live.

A smooth ride & drive
This model is a big improvement over our 2018. The best improvement my wife likes is when you shift into gear, the heavy jerk from the e-brake is eliminated. The suspension is greatly improved & results in a smoother ride over the bumpy fields. Lastly, the interior design with the added cup holders, underseat storage & added compartments is a great usage for our family. We all like the 1, 2, & 4 wheel switch transition & the new seat design is more comfortable. Overall, this model from our 2018 feels like going from a midgrade vehicle to a luxury model.

I really like the looks. Seats are great. Decent power, although I might have expected more. This is my first crew and the length takes some getting used to, but it's growing on me. I put front and rear glass in it and am very disappointed in the amount of dust that swirls around in the cab. I see doors in my future. Also disappointed in the shifting. It is not easy to shift, especially into high and also pops out of gear on occasion.

I am very impressed with the ride and how well it handles in different types of riding conditions. After doing my research and talking with other owners of off-road vehicles it was clear that i was going to purchase a Polaris. The only thing that i would say i'm some what disappointed in and keeps me from giving 5 stars is i have only 35 hours on this unit and i have paint chipping lose in some areas where it was welded on the frame.

Northstar not worth the extra money.
I bought this machine to not be in the dust and dirt and stay cool. Doors don’t seal, heat comes in from under the seat along with dust. Air conditioning is good only when it’s 70 degrees or less outside. I have owned 4 other Polaris side by sides and I am extremely disappointed that I spent the extra for a north star. It’s extremely loud inside. Don’t bring something to the market if it’s not worth my sweat and time to pay for it.

XP Northstar Trail Ed (Ride Command+)
Purchased as a Trail/Light Work Vehicle. Overall, we really enjoy the Ranger, but still do not have the RIDE COMMAND+ connected. It was not hooked up with the Dealer (Ken's PowerSports) and I have zero cellular service at our cabin in order to activate the system. This is VERY frustrating. Why wouldn't Dealer help us with RIDE COMMAND+ activation during our 'overview' of the system at pick up?? Note: for our pick-up, my wife came because she wanted the overview of the Ranger.... it was an absolute waste of time to come. We learned next to nothing.

Bought my 1000xp crew in October 2018. Love everything about it. Traded my 900 xp in towards it. I was nervous that the wheel base of the crew was goin to be to much compared to my 900xp. The turning radius of my new 1000 is much tighter than my 900 was. It gets around just as good if not better than my old one. The suspension and ride is far superior also which is hard to believe but it’s true. The features the cab are much better. The storage and cup holders is crazy. Polaris has once again outdone the competition in every aspect with this machine.

Injector Problems
I purchased this 2019 (2019) Ranger Crew XP1000 new 5-9-18. Unit went into limp mode 5-12-18. Took to dealer 5-15-18. Took 8 days to diagnose and repair a failed injector On 5-23-18 I picked unit up. Then on 7-11-18 the unit went into limp mode again. Took back to dealer and same problem was diagnosed-and was the injector that had been replaced. On 7-31-18 I picked the unit up.....
This has been the only let down so far.
The only reason I give Fair ratings and not higher ratings is due to having only 45 miles on the unit so far as of 8-15-18 and I have not really been able to use the unit due to it being in limp mode the majority of the time I have owned it.
The other Ranger crew XP800 I owned for 6 years was problem free....

Much quicker than my Kubota utv only real complaint is the noise it has when it is not in 4 we. It will only appears in 2 or 1 wheel drive I was told it was a known problem by Polaris and it is being worked on. You do not have “room” at the dealership to get up to speed to hear it. love the newness of my new 1000 Ranger

The clutches aren’t working right & the front driveshaft is very loose on the splines of the front differential. The cab leaks plenty of rain even when not being driven.

So-so
I bought this 3 months ago and have put 1500 miles on it. The dust ingestion is horrible even after installing the cab seal kit. It has left me dead in the water one time due to a throttle pedal issue. The tires are cupping terribly. There is a loud clunk in the rear end every time I start moving and the machine is very jumpy in reverse.

Ergonomic cab
I upgraded from a 2017 Northstar. I’m pleased with all the updates. Smoother clutch for less jerky take offs. Better sealed cab, standard roll down windows, ac unit with less noise.

Awesome machine.
I picked my Ranger up in February. The first time I took it out to start putting some hours on it the temp. was 17 degrees! Boy, having heat and defrost made that day more enjoyable to start breaking in my new uni
It got so warm in the cab that I had to stop and take my jacket off. Nice!

Smooth ride

Could be better.
