To inspect and replace the drive belt on your RZR Pro S or Pro XP, follow these steps:
Warning: Drive belt maintenance should only be performed after the vehicle has completely cooled.
1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface, ensure it is in PARK, and remove the key.
2. Loosen the clamps retaining the PVT inlet duct with an 8mm socket or flathead screwdriver to the outer clutch cover.
3. Pull the hose off the intake and drive belt cover and set the hose aside.
4. Remove the 14 clutch cover screws with an 8mm socket.
5. Maneuver the outer clutch cover outward to access the drive belt.
6. Mark the drive belt direction of rotation so that it can be installed in the same direction.
7. Insert the clutch spreader tool provided in the tool kit into the driven clutch and turn it clockwise to open the sheaves on the driven clutch.
8. Carefully walk the belt out of the driven and drive clutch and remove.
9. Make sure to remove all debris wrapped in and around the PVT system and from the entire clutch air duct passage. Check for signs of damage to seals on the transmission and engine. If any seals appear to be damaged, your vehicle requires prompt service. Your Polaris dealer can assist.
10. Inspect the belt for any fraying, hour-glassing, loose cords, missing cogs, abrasions, burns or damage, and replace if needed. A new belt is part number 3211202.
11. If replacing the belt, ensure it is installed the same direction it was previously marked.
12. With the clutch spreader tool installed, loop the belt over the drive clutch and over part of the driven clutch and start to walk the belt into the clutch.
13. Remove the clutch spreader tool from the driven clutch.
14. Rotate the driven clutch and belt clockwise approximately 5-7 times to seat the belt in the driven clutch.
15. Install the outer clutch cover.
16. Reinstall the 14 clutch cover screws and torque to 36 in-lbs (4 Nm).
17. Install the PVT intake hose and torque the hose clamp to 27 in-lbs (3 Nm).
