Position Title: Electrification Engineer – Hardware in the Loop (HIL)

Position Description: Responsible for the automated validation of electronic control unit integrated hardware and software. Responsible for the development and execution of tests, and the analysis of the test results. Design and develop the hardware, software, and platforms for the Hardware in the Loop (HIL) system to support the automated validation of multiple controllers and vehicle platforms. Work with controller leads to plan test script development and software validation schedules. Manage multiple Electronic Control Unit (ECU) validation schedules and projects simultaneously. Review and understand ECU software requirements and the desired functionality of the vehicle system. Design test cases and develop test scripts to automate software validation on a HIL system. Setup, execute, and analyze the results of the automated test scripts and report results to stakeholders. Design harnesses and loads banks for the HIL system to simulate a vehicle based on wire schematics and components. Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware, and harness issues on the HIL system and perform other duties as assigned. Up to 10% domestic travel as required. Hybrid work schedule available with manager approval; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Polaris’ office located in Novi, MI.

Position Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical, Computer, Software, or Mechanical Engineering or related, and 2 years of work experience validating embedded systems related to vehicle controls, diagnostics, and communication. Additionally, a qualified applicant’s experience must include the following: (1) Experience planning and executing multiple ECU validation projects; (2) Experience analyzing and reviewing requirements for development of test cases and scripts; (3) Experience using a requirements management tool, such as DOORS or Integrity, to review requirements and derive test cases; (4) Experience using Python to develop automated test scripts for software validation on HIL system; (5) Experience using dSPACE ControlDesk and ConfigurationDesk or NI VeriStand to perform manual validation of ECUs; (6) Experience designing harnesses and load banks for HIL system; (7) Experience using Matlab andSimulink to develop software models and interfaces to support automated testing on HIL system; and (8) Experience using Vector CAN tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters to troubleshoot and hardware and HIL system interfaces.

Special Requirement: Mandatory drug testing and background checks.
