What to expect: 

The Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) offers a robust opportunity for engineering and business graduates who share our commitment to defining and delivering world-class manufacturing processes and products. This rotational program is designed to accelerate the team member’s development by exposing them to Polaris Operations through a variety of critical assignments and targeted training.  

 

As an Operations Leadership Development Program Associate, you will: 

  • Expand your skillset through 4, 6-month rotation assignments within Operations in the areas of:  Manufacturing Engineering and Quality, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Purchasing, Sourcing, Materials, Logistics, NPI and/or Lean  

  • Grow your project management skills through planning, leading and executing key assignments that track directly to the business goals and drive solutions to real-world business problems  

  • Have the autonomy to bring innovative solutions to the table that will have the ability to advance Polaris’ manufacturing processes including the opportunity to develop leadership capabilities through a supervisory or related role 

  • Work as a team cross-functionally monitor product and process performance to improve quality and drive down overall costs for the company while providing optimal customer centric products for Polaris 

  • Experience a variety of operations roles early on in your career, which will allow you to narrow in on your next role at Polaris following the program 

  • Demonstrate your competence on complex cross-functional projects that stretch beyond most new college graduate positions 

  • Participate in technical training courses and projects that will help you to enhance your operations core competencies as well as Early Talent hosted training to grow personally and professionally 

  • Receive hands on experience, in-depth training and ongoing support from your executive mentor, program steering team members and dedicated HR Program partner to ensure you will have a great experience and tools necessary to have a successful career in Operations 

 

Selected LDP’s are hired and then partner with the Early Talent team in Spring 2024 to complete a brand slide, that will be used to match them to their specific LDP role, team, and location through our intentional LDP matching process. Brand slides are shared with the steering team for each program, which provide insights to the team and help us match them with the most meaningful rotation best suited to their strengths, development areas, interests, and the needs of the business. LDP’s complete this process bi-annually until they complete the program and roll-off into a new role at Polaris. 

 

Mobility is required for our OLDP participants. ODP’s are typically placed in any of the following locations: Osceola, WI; Roseau, MN; Spirit Lake, IA; Huntsville, AL; Wyoming, MN; Plymouth, MN; Battle Ground, WA; Wilmington, OH; Vermillion, SD and other potential locations. 

 

Polaris offers a robust relocation program for LDP’s who qualify through Weichert Workforce Mobility. LDP’s qualify for these services when their home address or current rotation is 35 miles or more from the office where they will be working. Benefits are tiered based on the mileage for each rotation and include a lump sum allowance, access to a relocation counselor to explain the resources available to make securing short-term housing super easy and following LDP’s closely until they have found a place to live. LDP responsibilities include: 

  • Transportation to/from office 

  • Securing housing for the duration of the rotation assignment

Required Qualifications: 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Engineering Sciences, Operations, Supply Chain, or related 

  • Graduating between December 2023-June 2024 

  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 

  • Ongoing geographic flexibility: you must be willing to travel and relocate between sites for your rotations as well as mobility beyond the rotational program to support accelerating your development 

  • Active leadership experience in student organizations and/or work experiences with interest to continue to grow your leadership skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint
