
Staff Engineer- EV Regulatory & Standards

JOB SUMMARY:
Drive cross-product internal and external industry-level leadership on Electric Vehicle regulations and standards for all Polaris product segments. This role will be an integral part of the Polaris Product Compliance Team of vehicle, radio device, and emissions specialists & engineers, working in the dynamic Polaris product development environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify all relevant mandatory and voluntary standards for electric vehicles and components
Understand and drive implementation of industry best practices beyond what is written in the standards
Represent Polaris in electric vehicle industry standards organizations and drive industry action
Support engineering research and development activities on electric vehicles Engage with Vehicle Compliance Engineers to ensure all EV requirements are accounted for in whole vehicle certifications
Support systematic Regulatory Change Action Register reviews
Review and determine if regulatory and industry standard changes affect Polaris products and ensure new requirements are embedded in long range product plans
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
B.S. Engineering degree required; M.S. in Engineering preferred
7+ years of overall experience in product compliance, product safety and vehicle certification
Minimum 5 years’ experience in electric vehicles or EV component development
In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for electric vehicles, propulsion batteries and electric powertrains
Must be able to collaborate and influence effectively in a matrixed environment
Self-starter who can apply engineering principles to regulatory requirements
Mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for Polaris Products
