Loud Noise and Brake Issues
After only a couple months of riding my brakes squeak so loud when i stop it's embarrassing and I barely even use the brakes. Also makes a loud clanking and squeaking noise while riding and the heat shield vibrates at certain speeds and is annoying to say the least. I'm also missing a bolt that holds the safety net on driver side. I sent an email out about 2 months ago and haven't heard anything from Polaris.

An awesome machine
My ranger is primarily used on a hunting property to maintain feeders and hunting hogs at night. Sometimes just riding around on the ranch to check things out. It handles the hills with ease and the load (up to 500 pounds) doesn't seem to bother it at all. Power is there when needed but in a ranch environment I hardly ever get above 20 mph. Accessories such as light bar at night is great (more to come). Like the security the winch gives me but haven't had the chance to use it yet. Upgrades to come as I venture more into it (brush guard, read bumper, rear glass, cargo type lighting, etc). So overall it has been a great machine and look forward to many years of enjoyment with it.

Polaris 1000 Ranger
So I bought a 2020 polaris 1000 Ranger.I love that it has a bucket and you can dump it with a lever. It has plenty of horse power.I pulled out some bushes with ease.I was on the trail today in wisc and I had the best ride.I seen a deer about 4 eagles and a couple hawks too.It handle very good hugs the trail.I wish I had more time to ride more. Also after you drive it your not all beat up either the machine handles the suspension. It also brakes very good and I like that wen you let up on the gas it slows down.It was the best value wen
i was looking across the board.I would buy another Polaris in a minute.

Great all around machine
This is a great machine and i have put about 500 miles open it in the first 6 weeks we owned it. We usually put about 1000 miles a year on our previous 570 but this is such a comfort to drive we use it almost daily even in the winter. There are a few bugs to work out but my dealership is very responsive in resolving any issue we have. The quality of the materials is good but i feel the workmanship of the assembly and adjustments may be lacking indicative of the workforce crunch we are in. Any issue i have had has been addressed. This is a quality machine and i am happy with my decision to purchase it.

Not happy
Have less then 25 hrs on ranger and have had to replace the throttle sensor twice seems to be common thing in the newer models have several friends that have to replace theres as well. Seems like polaris needs to find the issue and fix but they wont because its all about the money. I also own a 2010 that has is still going strong to this day no mechanical issue just normal wear tear i drive it more then the 2020 because i am afraid of it breaking down when out ridding

Riding into the sunset with my Sunset Red 1000
After 4 months, enjoying the Ranger 1000 Premium. This is my first UTV. Glad I waited until the 1000 debuted. It has all the features I was needing for farm and ranch use. Have added the front and rear wind shields, top, front and rear HD bumpers, rear view mirror, and horn. All Polaris brand products. Only questionable quality concern is the shifting. Sometimes hard to shift into the correct gear. Not sure if this will get better with age or worse.

The best work and play side by side
I love the way the unit handles and especially the short turning radius. Great for doing chores. It has plenty of power and had performed flawlessly when carrying full loads of firewood. I have used it numerous times for hunting and I love the increased cargo area and the enclosed cab when the weather is bad.

A very capable machine
Within the few short months I've had it I've used the heck out of it. However, the real test is yet to come. We bought this for 1. Plowing snow, 2. Hauling stuff, and 3. for use camping. Had to buy a new trailer to haul it (our previous utility trailer was too narrow). The dump bed is a fantastic feature! The only complaints are the gear selector and the throttle. In a car/truck, park is always up (not down like on this vehicle) and the throttle is unpredictable. Never quite sure how much pressure to apply to get it to move.

Thus far Ranger seems ok. Got to make sure you get in gear, it does not always just shift into Forward or reverse easy.?
i am disappointed i did not buy glass windshield that opens up. It gets pretty hot in June/July , i'd rather run my 4 wheelers when its 85 plus degrees. But this fall and winter it will be nice working cows and hunting. As of now that is the only change i would make in the options i chose.

Fun for the whole family!
We have almost 400 miles on our 2020 Ranger 1000 and are absolutely loving it! From trail riding to daily tasks on the farm it has been nothing but reliable. There are times when the extra speed and power of the XP would have been nice, but the low end torque of the SOHC 1000 works great for the chores on the farm. Serviceability has also been improved over the previous models, and I do most of my own service work so that is huge! So far I have no complaints and hope for years of fun out of my 2020 Ranger 1000!

Good running not so great put together quality
So far the machine has run great but I was missing an a arm guard and the driver side seat wasn’t fully installed correctly. The seat was just butt up to the frame instead of set into the frame via the guarding on the back of the seat. Not sure if they come to the dealers fully put together or not. Not very happy to spend that kind of money and not have a unit that’s fully installed correctly.

Overall the Ranger is very nice. It does what it needs to. And has plenty of power and the room in the cab is nice as I’m 6’7” y’all and my knees don’t hit dash. There is o luv one thing so far that I would complain about and that is the flimsy storage boxes under the seat. I noticed they started to warp and push downward into the mounting holes from people sitting on seat and riding over bumps. NO they are not heavy people. They end up half pushed thru the brackets holding them up I’m afraid one of these days it’s gonna fall and all my stuff will end up getting spilt down the trail

Very nice advancement
This my second Ranger. I had my first for 16 years and it was a great piece of equipment. I was hesitant to try a newer model. Boy was I surprised at the advancements. I love my new 1000 model. It's added features of engine braking, park locking, power steering and quieter running engine make this Ranger a treat to ride and work. I would recommend this model with no reservations.

Perfect for my needs
Overall, I’m very happy with it. Fits two people comfortably. A large variety of options available for customizing it. Living up north, I chose the winter prep package because I want to be able to use it during the winter months and be comfortable in the cab. Hauls enough for work around my property. Nice and comfortable trail riding. Great for getting to/from Deer blinds, favorite bird hunting spots. And great for scenic rides in the fall colors. Plan to take it Ice fishing this winter.

Nice...Dependable....
I use my Ranger everyday as a short commute to my log yard. I like that there are many accessory options available for Rangers and have purchased a cab enclosure, mud / rock guards, and a snowplow package since taking delivery. I have previously plowed my driveway with a 52 HP Kubota tractor and was hesitant about the need for a plow on my Ranger. However, after our first 15" snowstorm I was very impressed with the plowing performance and happy I can be out of the elements while plowing.

Great Value
I purchased this unit about 4 months ago for use on a small farm. I use it for irrigation and spraying. The unit is quiet, has a nice ride, and is nimble and easy to get around with. I especially like the turf mode for getting around the farm with. The unit has a nice big normal battery which is easily accessable to connect my sprayer to.
I wish it had doors like the Kawasaki Mule, the nets are a pain to close and open. I had nets on a past Ranger and it wasn't long before the plastic squeeze clips broke. I will be looking at getting doors if I can find some that are affordable. Based on the cost of adding doors I wish I would have purchased the Kawasaki Pro FXT which comes with really nice doors.

The most used piece of equipment
I used to have a quad to do my chores, but with a bad knee I was having a hard time saddling up on it. I purchased my side by side and cannot believe how much easier and useful it is, with the nice size bed I can haul, spray and ride the fence rows with ease. I use it a lot to get to the other barn verses walking, one of my better buys.

My First Side by Side
I have been wanting to get a side by side for a few years now. I couldn't decide to what I wanted but I did know that I needed 3 seats. I didn't want a crew cab though. Plus I wanted one that I could drive through my yard without tearing it up. The Polaris Ranger was the perfect fit. The turf mode keeps my yard intact and the the 3 seat standard cab allows my son, wife and I to take a cruise on when the work is done! Extremely satisfied with this machine. It does everything I ask from it and more!!! I will definitely be buying another Polaris Ranger in the future!!!

Enjoying the machine so far. Only one real issue I have is that the decals on the bed have torn very easily I can tear them with my fingernail. Not sure if this is a problem fixed by new decals or if they will tear the same way. I take care of my equipment and keep it clean the decals falling off has really disappointed me. I purchased the machine from Shoals Outdoor Sorts (Florence, AL.) I asked the representative at the dealership about any special offers he failed to mention anything about the “Hero Advantage” when I called back and questioned about it the representative did not know any of the details about the offer and asked to call me back when he responded back he informed me I got a better deal than the “Hero Advantage” and tried to sell me more warranty on top of the extended warranty I already purchased.

Power horse
Needed a work vehicle for the farm. Perfect for what we needed. Only issues we have had is that shifting can be a pain. You have to shift hard to the gear you want otherwise she slips out. There have been times when you couldn't go from reverse to low without putting back into low and drive a half turn on the wheel to get it to go into gear. Leaving in idle there is a loud gear rattle that gets annoying. We added power tilt bed (way worth it), winch, windshield, front brush guard for starters. Now we must put the in cab gun mount before spring.

Cab is horrible dust and water comes in every where. The ranger has 26 hours on it and it has over heated twice, once it shut down on me and I walked out of the bush
And when it took it in to dealer no explanation on why
I have had it in several times to get the water leaks fixed and no results apparently Polaris doesn’t want to fix it properly

Need a better bang for your buck
I’ve owned it for a few months. Put 600 miles on it. I like it but it is lacking in some areas.
It is too low. Bottoms out easily on uneven trails , need about 3 more inches.
The cab is pretty noisy. Should be better insulated.
The heater, air conditioning, ect switches should be illuminated.
The windshield wiper should have delay settings like in a vehicle.
Should come standard with winch.
The manual windows vibrate down while driving and hauling it.
The muffler is in a stupid spot. Easily going to get banged up.
The head lights are horrible at night when you need them.
I like the bus bar for accessories.
I like the large battery.
Lots of dust and water leaks in cab.
I really like the interior. Such as dash and seats.
For the price of it, I could have got a full size pickup. So these things should not even be an issue.

Polaris Ranger 1000 XP
We went back and forth for a long time whether we wanted a different brand or Polairis. Once I drove a Ranger, I was sold! The machine has incredible handability and power. Its ability to maneuver the trickiest of situations is impressive. I really like how the back cargo area raises up so you can dump a load or really get to the hard to reach places during a wash. We have added some adaptions like a light bar, and the Ranger was set up for such things, like pre determined holes to slide wires through. I have been nothing but happy with my purchase and would highly reccomend my vendor and any Polairis brand machine.

Very Dissappointed
Bought Ranger and when I got home vehicle had a oil leak. I hadn't even ridden in vehicle yet. Polaris gave me "Polaris Cash" to make up for the problem. I bought front brush guard with the money. After fighting for 2 hour trying to install accessory I found out it didn't fit. I returned it to dealer only to have parts guy tell me he hasn't sold one of these kits that has fit. My experience with my Polaris will be my last.

Ranger Owner For Life!
The first Ranger I bought was a 2006 700 XP. I used and abused it. It was my workhorse around the farm and my chariot in the hills chasing chuckar, deer, and elk. I watched new models roll out and saw the improvements made year after year. I finally couldn’t take it anymore. I retired my 2006 and purchased my 2020 1000 XP and have been in love with it since day one. We’ve already had family adventures and put it to work around our acreage. I have no doubt it’ll be the workhorse my 2006 was and will provide me with many years of service that you can come to expect from the Polaris brand.

general machine
my 1000 ranger north star was a great machine. The new one I purchased is very much the same. My old 2020 Rangers finish was very durable I have owned 4 Rangers The new one's finish (Azure Crystal Metallic) is not good at all when I picked it up the front hood and fenders had scratches on them and if you touch the paint with light dust on it you leave scratches, I have waxed the parts, but this does not help and cannot remove the scratches I realize this is a four-wheeler but my old machine after 2.5 years did not show any scratches this machine is just over a month old and shows all kind of them I would recommend the machine but trash the color

Overpriced Golf Cart - Just Average
I traded my Sportsman 1000 ATV for this Ranger and wish I'd kept my ATV. I've taken it to Wyoming and use it on my local deer lease but it's lacking HP and some key accessories. I didn't realize how expensive the accessories are for this unit and feel it should have come with the additional features for what I paid for this unit. Also my ATV seemed to have more power and functionality for my purpose. I feel that I made a mistake in purchasing this POLARIS product and should have bought a golf cart.

Finally!! A fun and exciting, hard working machine
Our Ranger is used daily on our farm. It is used for everything from hauling feed out to the pasture to bringing wood to the fire. We haven't found anything yet this machine can't handle. We love the smooth drivability of it and it has no trouble cruising at 45mph from our farm to leased farm land fields. In addition to farm use, we use it when hunting our property. It's quiet enough to sneak into a far out hunting spot without alarming game and has plenty of room to haul all our gear. The large cargo bed makes it nice when bringing game out of the woods as well. We are very happy the purchase of our Ranger and our only regret is not buying it sooner!!

Best Ranger Yet!
i bought my ranger 1000xp about 3 months ago and i am loving it so far! I had a 2013 800 crew that we bought new and had excellent service out of it. Think new body style and cab is great and it has tons of power and torque. I loo e forward to many years of service out of this one as well. So far I have added the oem roof, rear glass panel, front and rear bumpers, bed mat, floor mats, side steps, and LED headlights. Aftermarket parts include koplin vented windshield, boss sound bar, rough county 4500lb winch and 12” light bar, craftsman toolbox, horn, and the gun grabber gun mount. New hostile wheels and 29” tires are on they way!

Nice machine
I the new body style rangers are very nice. When the new clutching is working properly it’s is awesome set up. I had a 2018 before this one and the primary clutch was junk. It always shifted hard and finally broke the shifter off. I had a guy look at the clutch and he said the machining on the clutch was terrible and it was pretty much a paper weight. When I bought the 2019 it had the hard shifting also. I have since fixed the problem. Overall they are great machines and the clutch/belt are very strong when they work right.

Great design, poor transmission shifting
I bought this unit back in August. The unit has the perfect balance of handling and engine power. The only downside that I dislike about it is the transmission shifting into gear. There are several times I had to turn off the engine in order to shift the gear from reverse to park because it was stuck in reverse. Another dislike I had was when I'm at stop on a slope, the unit tends to roll backwards. It seems to lack control when in that position. The two stars are for performance and look. I would have given a five if I had not experienced the rolling backwards at an incline stop and the shifting out of a gear issue.

Trail Boss Review
I use the machine on my ranch. When I first brought it home from the dealership I found the hardware for the skid plates all loose. Recently I found a bolt on the floor board that has fallen out of something. when installing the winch I found a bolt on the brush guard with gaulded threads. Now I’m hearing an odd noise when the vehicle is descending down a hill.
I’m really concerned about the quality and of the machine that I have so much money invested.
On a positive note Polaris does very good with the work instructions and the provisions for options.

Good, but could still be better
Took delivery of an '18 Ranger XP1000 in late Nov. 2017 so am one of the first to own this "all new" machine. The creature comforts are a big upgrade over the '17 model. However, even with the all-new clutch system, slow speed "inching" is still terrible as it wants to hobble and lunge ahead. This is annoying when hooking up to trailers or other slow speed ground equipment. Will have to do the Dura-Clutch mod to get it right!

Good design and features, HORRIBLE RELIABILITY
Wrote a longer review earlier, but couldn’t submit it because this site forces you to disable ad blockers.
The bad: If this wasn’t my only option with HVAC, I would trade it in a heartbeat. Has been in the shop for a month dealing with clutch issue. Shifter is rough. Ride is not as smooth as my Kawasaki Mule Pro.
The good: looks awesome. HVAC is a game-changer, and should be added to General too. Pulse bar and switch cutouts makes it easy to add accessories.

Best bang for the buck
Bought back in september love the the torque and stance. If your thinking of a 900 dont waste your time or money. The 1000 is a total different animal. Love the performance mode. All around great machine. Only slight problems, a bolt for the passenger seat was loose and the headrest rivet isnt in all the way. My brother bought one before me and his battery cables were loose. And my brother inlaw bought a 900 and after 2 months a bolt backed out of the clutch assembly. But polaris replaced the belt and assembly.

My Opinion!
I bought a 2013 900 brand new enjoyed it very very much never had one problem with it so you guys remodel it restructure so I buy the 2018 1000 never have a problem with it it's a very very wonderful machine well-planned well-designed my 2013 900 compared to my 2018 1000 is night and day only issues I have is accessories very hard to get some of the accessories but not a big deal it's a brand new machine I understand. I did talk to my friends into buying 2018 1000 and they are very very happy with theirs too I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what you guys offer in the future as far as the Polaris Ranger goes. Polaris Ranger has no competition as far as cab system design in my opinion!!!!!

Nice machine
We traded up to this in December from the 900 so far after 4 months very happy with the changes we already have 475 hours and 2500 miles on machine the updates where well needed would still like to see a couple more things fixed needs more clearance around rear boots we use daily have to wash mud out every night so it doesn’t freeze at night and tear boots there’s just no place for it to go the cab very nicely improved very little or no dust on gravel roads seem to hold loads and tow better little heavier springs but didn’t sacrifice ride

Annoying vibration noise from rear end
Not what I was expecting after all the changes. Have had nothing fail at this point, but there is a very annoying vibration from the engine area between 4000 and 5000 RPM’s. The dealer has “listened” for the noise one time, but could not identify and stated that if it continues, they will address it. It should have been corrected then, because it is getting worse and it’s annoying enough that I don’t even enjoy riding the unit.

Not what I expected
Great looking machine, however the clutching is noisy as is the drivetrain when off trail. It takes 4-5k rpm to get moving at a decent speed and tops out at about 5800. Seems like the engine has to work way to hard for the speed it produces. Had i been able to test drive I would have probably driven further from home and looked at other manufacturers. I have other polaris atv's that I absolutely love. Thought this one would be better than my first impressions so far! I brought mine for plowing, went all out and purchased the polaris fully hydraulic plow. Come to find out that the new "plow mode" feature only works when using the winch so it's worthless to me. Why was I not informed of this when ordering.

I bought this machine for ice fishing and love everything about it... except it is nerve-wracking trying to start it in cold temps. Thankfully the battery seems to hold up well but cranking the machine for 10 minutes getting it to pop off can't be good long-term.

great ride
Haven't been disappointed my side by side yet. Good looking and I like the new style and find it very easy to clean up after your in a little mud. I like a clean ride and after taking it in the mud, it takes hours to clean up in the past and now it doesn't take but a few minutes. Another big deal is the not getting so much dust in the cab. I ride on some dirt roads and in the past, I've tried everything to keep it out of the cab and still have a roof and window. The new aerodynamics has made the dirt road ride much more enjoyable.

2021 RANGER XP 1000 NorthStar
We have owned Polaris ATVs for many years and we bought this Northstar to replace an older model. The interior and console were redesigned and we've now gained some extra room in the cab, especially under the passenger seat where the storage bin under the seat has been replaced with a big open space to place a bucket or other items (the dog loves this space). Also, the dash has been redesigned so that now I can place my stuff there without it sliding off the dash! The heat and air are so important for us, but can be a little loud in the cabin. We miss the heated seats, which were not standard. The doors are also different on this model - the windows ROLL DOWN - YES!

Northstar edition 2023 crew XP
We use our Northstar daily and recently took it for a 90 mile ride on an off road trail and loved the A/C, nav package and comfort. The engine noise in the newer model is noticeably louder than our older model, though. We have 5 grandkids and have to be very cautious with them when opening/closing the doors! If the Ranger is on uneven ground the doors are heavy and easily swing shut. This issue is also a safety issue for adults too when closing doors on an uphill. Many bruises have occurred. There should be some mechanism to prevent this. We also added mirrors as the rear view mirror wasn't quite enough. Love the color, the ride and many other features, though,

Can't get parts
The reason I bought it was to use it this summer. The air conditioner broke and we are still waiting for parts. Rubber straps broke to keep bumper closed. Polaris dealer tried to charge me a lot for a new bumper kit. They said only option. I found them for a lot less. The price difference was huge. They will not let me post how much. If you try riding with the windows down the cab immediately fills with dust. Completely covers the inside with enough dust so that you can't even see the color of the seats within 10 minutes.

Nice machine
Purchased machine this fall. Has been very useful and will increase in usefullness as attachments like the power dump bed are added. I am a little disappointed in the construction of the bed and tailgate. It seems a little to “plastic” I want a tailgate I can stand on and use for a work platform that is strong and rigid. Would also like the top of the bed rails to have a metal cap to prevent damage from loads of rock, scrap metal, or logs. Power seems good although I feel like the 1000 motor may be holding back some on acceleration. The wide bed is very nice for the farm. The selectable rear locker is nice to have traction when needed but not tear up the yard when in one wheel drive. Overall a nice machine.

needs attention to detail
this is my third ranger sense 2015(570 crew, bought my father a 570 midsize)i now have a XP 1000 Northstar,I am happy with the machine for the most part but do have some complaints, for the cost of this machine there should be a little more attention to detail.dust in the cab,I am slowly plugging holes left open through out the interior, also adding seals to the compartments under rear seat, bad vibration at 20-25 miles per hour,a/c needs an electric fan in front of condenser, also mud protection at rear cab area under bed, that would make this machine untouchable in the market.

Great new interior!!!
Owned this for about 3 mos and it’s exactly as promised. Best UTV on the market. Only complaint is the shift column is a little tricky. Chain slips if you don’t make sure you “jam” it in high. Ride is exceptional. New stabilizers and body style is well worth the price tag. Most in cabin room on the market, has cup holders for every passenger (which is a big deal!). Only thing I would change is I wish Polaris would offer a longer term on their warranty. Never had a problem on any of my old rides, but there is just a good feeling that the manufacturer would stand behind you longer than the 6 mos (which is nothing).

Love my Ranger
Love the capability of my Ranger. It helps to drive around our property and shuttling customers around our property. We love being able to use on the trails at our cabin. During a recent hailstorm, it was so nice being protected by the full cab, no injuries from hail, even though the inside of the cab got wet due to leakage problems. For the amount of money spent on a high end machine, should not have this many leaks, 3 more leaks and we already have had the windshield replaced due to a leak. Overall satisfied but hopefully all of the leakage problems get fixed.

Issues immediately. Hazardous Conditions.
A few major issues right after purchase. the gears would stay engaged on one incident of many I was in reverse backing out of a road with a cliff and the side by side kept reversing, I could not get it out of gear. Could have been fatal. Quick thinking. I turned off the key. Next issue was that the key assembly came out when I pulled the key out the bits and pieces, springs, tabs fell out and I was left stranded. Had to hike out for help. Soon after a recall came out. I have not seen a recall for the key insert. just for the gears staying engaged. What next? Paid alot of money to have these issues.

Love our Ranger!! Would change a few things like the mesh doors and would have got heat and air. The only problem I see so far is the nozzle and placement of the windshield wiper fluid. Nozzle has 2 holes the fluid comes out and only one squirts on the windshield, the other in mid air. We tried to adjust but it just doesn't adjust to where both streams hit the windshield so we just plugged one of the holes up. This is our second Polaris and we love it even more than our first one. It is super handy and we have it equipped so that we can drive it on the county roads to our different pastures.

I bought this in the winter, and it worked well for a few weeks, then loss power and error said due to belt slippage. It's been in service for over 2 weeks and the dealer says it has happened many times and Polaris is not taking responsibility for the warranty. If they fix it with OEM parts, it cancels the warranty, and yet, Polaris has not found a permanent solution. Spent plenty on this vehicle and it is not working?! Disappointed to say the least.

I paid an exorbitant amount for a machine that was supposed to have all the bells and whistles and the website says that the dash speakers are stock on my vehicle. When I contacted the dealer, they contacted Polaris. Polaris said the website is wrong and I have to pay to buy the speakers and then pay to have them installed. A friend bought the same exact machine a month earlier and his came with the dash speakers. After speaking with customer service personally they made good and gave me a credit to purchase the speakers.

I have owned it for around 3 months. Came with a bad AC fitting after 3 times in the shop it was finally fixed. After about 200 miles there is a clunking noise in the front driver side when you turn. Dealers can’t find where it’s coming from.
Leaks water through the roof and windshield whipper box. Super loud inside the cab from engine noise. Very expensive to have this many issues and nobody at Polaris really seems to care.
