RANGER 500

CAPAZ. COMPACTO. CÓMODO.

2022 RANGER 500 Sagebrush Green is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 365.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor start Bought this to do work around the property, hunting, and a few rides on the trail. Bike works good once it gets started. VERY VERY hard to start when cold, sometimes simply will not start. Not a lot of power but understood given only a 500. When it starts, good value for $$

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy around the farm Bought new about 2 months ago and it’s great for yard work, hauling firewood anything

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Side by Side 500 2018 I got it for Christmas and I love it. There are many accessories that make this fun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value for the money Gets me through the fields and this is why I bought it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine! I wanted something I could take care of my hunting property and also use it for hunting. I can't believe how good the suspension is. It has gone through places I would never have believed without getting stuck. I don't think I will ever have to use the winch I put on it. One reason I bought it is because my friend has had a Polaris Ranger for 14 years and has only had to replace the belt. His grandchildren have put his Ranger thru the ringer and it is still going strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and reliable Got this for Christmas to be used for snow plowing my quarter mile driveway. It did not let me down. Had a 17 inch snow storm and this machine performed with flying colors. Waiting for the spring and summer months to enjoy around the yard and through the woods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfortable ride -- short on leg room Using it to look for asparagus during summer months and carrying fishing supplies to my fish house during winter months. Very comfortable ride BUT could stand a little more leg room and I'm not a big guy. Like the box for carrying propane tanks, ice auger and other odds and ends --- works great for hauling supplies to the deer stand in the fall -- all season vehicle --- very handy. Even though it's only a 500 it has plenty of power for my uses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Polaris Pro - Excellent starter vehicle; good power; excellent acceleration and top speed; good gas mileage; stable. Con - A little loud; instrumentation not very visible; gas cap easily crossthreads (needs immediate correction); accessories expensive.
Date published: 2018-10-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Honest review Power is great and ability to haul loads. The only con is that there is not enough protection to keep the engine or front under the hood from getting dirty. Some cheap plastic shrouds would easily fix this. Same as what vehicles have on them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine I've had several Polaris sportsman and rangers. They never fail me. I won't even consider another brand.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs Improvement There are a few things that leave me short of impressed. I've owned a Sportsman 500 for 16 years. I couldn't praise that machine enough. The Ranger? Not so much. Going downhill, the clutch freewheels and the brakes are not robust enough to slow it down. I have to keep my foot on the accelerator to keep the low gear engaged...so, drive with two feet? One on the accelerator and one on the brake? Not my favorite thing on steep hills. Also, the muffler fell off and I've not gone over 5mph yet. I managed to find a few of the bolt parts and do a field repair to get home quietly, but after owning for only a few months, should this have been necessary? Attention to detail with construction is just not there. The seat belt bolts almost came undone and have also needed tightening. I'm not sure if there's a better product on the market? This machine makes me wish I'd done a bit more research before purchase. I'm seriously concerned what I'll find next. All the while my Sportsman keeps doing its job without flaw year after year. Polaris apparently doesn't make 'em like they used to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and a strong work horse I bought my 2018 Polaris Ranger 500, in March 2018. I use it almost every weekend pulling a trailer around with trash in it has no problems. And I think me and my wife trail riding on it still has no problems

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Manure toting special Bought this to help with barn work, especially stalls. It was a great help in the winter. Very utilitarian around the yard. Not much recreational trail use but will when I get some trails made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! I really love my Ranger. I do have a problem with the shifting. At times the R will show and I think I am in reverse. However, the cart will not move until I move the shifter around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real workhorse I purchased about three months ago. Should have done it years ago. I'm 70 years old and the Ranger has been perfect for assisting me in clearing brush and trees around my property, from hauling brush to dragging small logs. I am very happy with this vehicle. My wife even enjoys driving it. I would however get the power steering if I was to do it again. It steers fine without, but need to work a bit harder at slow speeds.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not too happy with it! I bought this Polaris Ranger 500 new a few months ago. Since then, it's been back in the shop a couple of times because the shifting has an obvious issue. You have to rock the ranger back and forth a little to get it to drop into park and you always have to fight it to get it into reverse. The problem still exists and I'm told that's the way they are. It also has some kind of annoying rattle that can't be found. If I had a choice, I'd return it and buy a different brand.
Date published: 2019-07-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Practical and fun! I would give 5 stars but the only issue I've been having is when shifting into reverse it's sometimes hard to find the gear and it slams into reverse very hard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun, workhorse Purchased this against my wife’s objections, she said I did not need another toy. She now declares it a necessary expense for maintaining our property.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs Nothing to add except i love it Only other thing is we use them on our farming and cattle ranching and they hold up better than the other brands

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun ride, good utility vehicle for yard work My wife and grand daughter loves it. I use it every weekend for yard work. Only complaint I have is the reverse gear is hard to find at times

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Red Hot Muffler I love the Ranger 500 side by side. The one issue I have is the muffler is Cherry Red Hot after 10 minutes of use. Drove back from my deer blind (1/4 mile) at dusk and noticed a lighted cherry red muffler. This is a problem for a machine with 3 hours on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work and play Good ride and very functional with the dump bed in the back. Cab is roomy for the size. Rides and handles well on trails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ready for winter! I’ve been prepping my Ranger 500 to take care of the plowing for my place and my sons. Besides buying the Polaris 66” plow kit and winch, I’ve added side markers, plow flap and a 2” PVC pipe to the blade as we both have gravel driveways. I’ve also added Siezmik soft doors and mirrors, as well as LED front light bar and rear spot lights. Mud-Buster fender flares complete the set-up. Top it off with a new 6X12 carry-on trailer to move it on it completes the package. It’s been fun running it around my back lot. But the real work begins shortly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke. 37 miles. Fail. Took it easy. Three rides between 10-15 miles. Stayed under 20 mph. Took key out each time. I needed the Ranger for a project I had lined up when some friends were coming to help me chip a big brush pile. Went to start Ranger and it wouldn’t start. Lights wouldn’t come on. Contacted dealer and they said must be the spark plug... I told them the lights won’t even turn on. I can’t take it to the dealership because the I can get it into my trailer. They told me just take the battery out and bring it in. I’m not sure how to do this, I’m not very mechanical but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. So needless to say I’m borrowing a 1996 Honda fourweeler tomorrow to get the job done. Maybe next week I can try to take the battery out of my 2021 Polaris Ranger and drive 50 miles to the dealership. In the meantime, glad I have access to a family members Honda. Very frustrating and disappointing.
