The following is a copy of the R-24-06 Consumer Email issued on 11/11/2024. Vehicles affected by this bulletin will receive notification by mail to the address the vehicle is registered to.
Dear Polaris Owner,
Polaris has determined that the exterior door handle actuators on some Model Year 2024-2025 Ranger XD 1500 and Crew XD 1500 vehicles may stick and cause the door to unexpectedly open while the vehicle is moving and cause an unrestrained rider to fall out of the vehicle or increase the risk of a crash, posing a risk of serious injury. Our records show you have purchased an affected vehicle. Polaris has informed the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) about the issue.
Our records indicate that you are the owner of a RANGER affected by R-24-06.
Polaris is currently evaluating a permanent engineered solution for this concern. When available, Polaris will notify dealers and reply to you by mail and email. This work will be performed by your dealer at no cost to you.
As Polaris develops a permanent repair for this issue, we are providing owners with information that will allow you to keep riding safely, by following the included Outer Door Latch Verification Instructions.
What you Should Do:
- Read, understand, and follow the Outer Door Latch Verification Instructions linked HERE.
- If you’ve completed the verification instructions linked above and:
- Your outer door latches are functioning and returning properly, and continue to do so as your vehicle doors are used.
- You continue to follow the Safety – Owner Requirements section of your owner’s manual (including personal protective equipment, including helmet, and seat belt must be fastened) linked HERE.
- Please watch for a follow-up communication from Polaris regarding permanent repair details. We expect a permanent repair to be communicated in November 2024.
