The following is a copy of the R-24-05 Consumer Email issued on 10/3/2024. Vehicles affected by this bulletin will receive notification by mail to the address the vehicle is registered to.
Dear Polaris Owner,
Polaris has determined that on some Model Year 2023-2024 RANGER XP Kinetic vehicles, the high voltage cables on the Motor Controller Unit (MCU) can become loose. A loose high voltage cable may arc or overheat during vehicle operation resulting in a fire and/or unintended acceleration posing a crash hazard and risk of serious injury. Our records show you have purchased an affected vehicle. Polaris has informed the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) about the issue.
Our records indicate that you are the owner of a RANGER affected by Safety Recall R-24-05.
Contact your authorized Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment to have the repairs performed. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Repairs must be done only by an authorized Polaris dealer. This repair should take approximately 60-90 minutes. When making contact with your dealer, discuss parts availability, their schedule and how long they will need to keep your vehicle.

- DO NOT OPERATE YOUR VEHICLE until this safety recall has been completed by your dealer.

- Immediately stop using the vehicle and schedule an appointment with an authorized Polaris dealer. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Repairs must be done by an authorized Polaris dealer. Your local dealer can be found on our Dealer Locator web page.

To address this concern, Polaris has authorized your dealer to inspect the Motor Controller Unit (MCU). This work will be performed by your dealer at no cost to you.
