Job Summary:

The Global Sourcing Sr. Financial Analyst is a member of Polaris’ Operations Finance team and is responsible for all day-to-day aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for Polaris’ worldwide raw material spend. In this role, you will be responsible for collection, consolidation, reporting, and messaging of Raw Materials and Import Duties/Tariffs spend results. This team member will be integral in the analysis of business performance, development of forecasts / plans, and the identification/measurement of cost savings opportunities. By nature of supporting a Global Sourcing organization, this role will also require an understanding of financial accounting and cost accounting concepts.  

This is a highly visible role supporting a worldwide organization, with significant cross-functional exposure. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, with strong finance/accounting and analytical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Operations Finance Leadership to produce and present executive reporting materials to simplify messages and improve cross functional executive understanding of operational results of Raw Materials spend
  • Lead the coordination and consolidation of budgeting, forecasting and long range strategic planning for Raw Materials spend; including development of financial models and tools to support and standardize processes
  • Serve as the planning, reporting & analysis lead for raw material import costs; including tariffs & duties
  • Partner across levels within the organization to coordinate data gathering and compilation of key financial operations metrics / initiatives (e.g., cost savings, commodity market impacts, vendor negotiations, risk / opportunity identification, etc.)
  • Drive continuous improvement through the Operations Finance organization through sharing of best practices, standardizing processes and problem solving
  • Book month-end journal entries including but not limited to Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and Import Duties
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis for projects as assigned, including but not limited to, NPV and Payback calculations on investments, and cost leverage opportunities

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Prior experience in Supply Chain, Global Trade or Operations Finance preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or sourcing required
  • Strong ability to work with business leaders to deliver results, including the ability to persuade
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an eye towards continuous process improvement, including the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational messages with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, multi-task, and manage multiple priorities High degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint experience required. Alteryx and PowerBI experience preferred.

The pay range for Minnesota is $80,000 to $111,000 per year. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
