Test Technician - Certification

The Certification Test Technician is responsible for conducting required certification tests and properly documenting results.  We are looking for an energetic, organized, self-starter to join our certification staff.

Job Description 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Setup vehicles prior to certification.
2.    Perform Certification tests on production vehicles. 
3.    Responsible for a variety of certification duties including setting up and programming steering robot/controller, IMU, static stability, dynamic stability, debris penetration, zone testing, and brake testing. 
4.    Ability to perform ORV certification tests in a controlled environment while keeping safety a top priority. 
5.    Responsible for downloading and interpreting test data. 
6.    90% of this job is spent instrumenting vehicles, performing certifications, and documenting the results. 10% of the time is spent performing development tests for future vehicles. 
7.    Be creative and effective in the development of new or improved products. Be a field service problem solver to quickly find solutions as problems arise on new or existing products. 
8.    Must have a keen sense for proper set up. Also needs to be safety minded, ambitious, accurate and dependable. 
9.    Assist with the training of less experienced technicians in advanced techniques and provide work direction to them on specific duties. 
10.    Organizes and leads development activity in the field, including test trips in conjunction with Development Coordinator and project leaders. Test trips occur approximately 4-5 times per year. Must be capable of entering Canada. 
11.    Keep good records, follow test procedures, and write test reports. 
12.    Maintain strict confidentiality. 
13.    Maintains a clean work area and meets OSHA requirements. 
14.    Must be willing to travel to different locations periodically to do product certification, testing, evaluation and development. Total travel time expected is up to 20% 
15.    Able to communicate professionally, maintain action register, drive project to timely completion. 
16.    Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
1.    2 Year degree in technical field desirable. 
2.    Basic computer skills required. Experience with Excel, Vbox, and Glyphworks is desirable. 
3.    Desirable to have basic fabrication skills. 
4.    Must be capable of reading blueprints and making sketches. 
5.    Must be familiar with instrumentation, data acquisition, and analysis. 
6.    Good self-starter, willing to work overtime as needed.
