At Polaris Inc., we have fun doing what we love by driving change and innovation. We empower employees to take on challenging assignments and roles with an elevated level of responsibility in our agile working environment.  Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to Think Outside.

What to expect:

The Polaris Engineering Development Program (ELDP) offers a robust opportunity for engineering graduates who share our commitment to the design and production of world-class vehicles and powertrains. Our unique two-year development program will help you develop essential skills in Polaris Engineering processes that provide a broad-based understanding of the product development cycle while giving you in-depth exposure to our customers and their needs. The program provides the resources, support, and environment to help foster both personal and professional success along with establishing mentor relationships with our leadership team that will continue to grow throughout your career with Polaris.

As a Core ELDP, you will:

  • Expand your skillset through 4, 6-month rotation assignments within Core in areas of: Project, Systems, CAE, Test or Development Engineering depending upon your interests and the business need to take place in a variety of our teams including, but not limited to Snowmobiles, Off-Road Vehicles, On-Road vehicles, and Powertrain (internal combustion or electric)

  • Work as a team cross-functionally integrate product designs for manufacturability, reliability and serviceability while providing optimal customer centric products for Polaris

  • Challenge yourself technically where every assignment has a new set of business challenges that require you to learn new skills and grow your existing skills and where you can design and improve products and processes, reduce costs, and improve quality

  • Experience a variety of engineering roles early on in your career, which will allow you to narrow in on your next role at Polaris following the program

  • Demonstrate your competence on complex cross-functional projects that stretch beyond most new college graduate positions

  • Participate in technical training courses and projects that will help you to enhance your engineering core competencies as well as Early Talent hosted training to grow personally and professionally

  • Receive ongoing support from your executive mentor, program steering team and dedicated HR Program partner to ensure you will have a great experience

Selected LDPs are hired and then partner with the Early Talent team in Spring 2024 to complete a brand slide, that will be used to match them to their specific LDP role, team, and location through our intentional LDP matching process. Brand slides are shared with the steering team for each program, which provide insights to the team and help us match them with the most meaningful rotation best suited to their strengths, development areas, interests, and the needs of the business. LDP’s complete this process bi-annually until they complete the program and roll-off into a new role at Polaris.

Mobility is required of our ELDP participants.  ELDPs are typically matched to a role in any of the following locations: Roseau, MN; Wyoming, MN; Osceola, WI; Huntsville, AL; Spirit Lake, IA; Battle Ground, WA; and other potential locations.

Benefits are tiered based on the mileage for each rotation and include a lump sum allowance, access to a relocation counselor to explain the resources available to make securing short-term housing super easy and following LDPs closely until they have found a place to live. LDP responsibilities include:
