We empower employees to take on challenging assignments and roles with an elevated level of responsibility in our agile working environment.  Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to Think Outside.

What to expect:

The Polaris Operations Internship program is a 12-week program designed for future leaders who seek a culture built on innovative, passionate, and collaborative individuals. As an Operations intern you could work in Manufacturing Engineering and Quality, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Purchasing, Sourcing, Materials, Logistics, NPI and/or Lean. Your assignments offer value-added deliverables that have a direct impact on developing new Polaris products.

You will have the invaluable chance to bring your education to life through real world project work at one of the most dynamic companies within the power sports industry. Through your experience you will have opportunities to expedite your knowledge of the business, develop innovative solutions to real business challenges and build a network of Polaris employees.

Internship assignments could include (but are not limited to):

  • Facilitating improvement of global supplier metrics across the Polaris supply base

  • Supporting manufacturing or product engineering teams with the resolution of top quality and warranty issues, applying advanced statistical analysis, problem solving techniques and quality tools

  • Assisting with supplier assessments, validating corrective actions, or negotiating prices

  • Working closely with Purchasing and Materials to manage quality, cost, delivery, and logistics

  • Forecasting cost, volume, compatibility, and quality of future packing methods

  • Optimizing utilization of assets used in material movement globally throughout the company

  • Analyzing and evaluating manufacturing methods and standards

  • Developing and updating process documentation and procedure instructions

  • Supporting lean initiatives

  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects

Interns are hired and then partner with the Early Talent team in Spring 2024 to match them to their specific intern role, team, and location through our intentional intern matching process. Interns complete a survey that provides insights to the team and help us match them with the most meaningful opportunity best suited to their strengths, development areas, interests, and the needs of the business.

Interns are typically matched to a role in any of the following locations: Osceola, WI; Roseau, MN; Spirit Lake, IA; Huntsville, AL; Wyoming, MN; Plymouth, MN; Battle Ground, WA; Wilmington, OH; Vermillion, SD and other potential locations.

Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a passion to learn may be offered an additional internship or a full-time position, depending on graduation date.

Polaris offers a robust relocation program for interns who qualify through Weichert Workforce Mobility. Interns qualify for these services when their home address is 35 miles or more from the office where they will be working. Benefits include a lump sum (grossed up to offset your tax liability), access to a relocation counselor to explain the resources available to make securing short-term housing easy and follows interns closely until they have found a place to live. Intern responsibilities include:

  • Transportation to/from office

  • Securing housing for the duration of the internship

  • Attending a week-long summit event in Minnesota: an opportunity to learn from executives, network with other interns, and participate in professional development.
