Title: Sr. IT Software Engineer

Department: D&IT
Reports To: Tech Lead

Location: Bangalore

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr.QA Test Analyst will assist in testing applications, that Polaris uses for Order fulfilment, Logistics
and Cash Applications. In Polaris, the Order to Cash applications, uses Infor-XA/Mapics, along with IBMi
customization. This role will be accountable to develop, implement, and document all testing activities,
including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking and reporting, including
follow-up and issue resolution.
The ideal candidate will have a keen analytical and out of the box mindset, with the ability to jump into
on-going projects and come up to speed quickly. The QA Analyst will be focused on functional and
integration testing using manual testing techniques throughout the Software Development Lifecycle
(SDLC). You must be motivated to work with Product owners and Software Engineers to ensure all
necessary testing is completed

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Systems and Enterprise Architecture:
 Work with Product Owners and Software Engineers to understand business and functional
requirements.
 Ability to develop test plan, by understanding the problem statement and business requirement.
 Recommends process improvements for QA activities.
 Troubleshoot production issues (if any) when projects are released.
 Coach and Mentor developers to follow Polaris’s standards and incorporate industry bestpractices
in the applications; guide them in error handling.
 Provide after install support: Questions and helpdesk tickets from users

Technical Leadership:
 Experience in Order fulfilment and Logistics is highly preferred.
 Develop and execute test plans to ensure all objectives are met
 Perform Data/Functional/Regression/System Integration/Backend/Negative Testing
 Experience in testing IBMi Applications, able to read RPG, RPGSQL, CL programs is preferred.
 Identify and analyze test data, test results
 Read and analyze Business Requirements documents to gather technical information
 Create all types of testing documents in support of Data testing: Estimations, Test Strategy, Test
Case/Scripts, Test Plan, Test Data, Test Closure, Test Reports
 Create Bug/Defect work items, conduct defect triage meetings and retest defects
 Provide estimations and capacity planning for work assignments and change requests in
accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
 Ensures compliance with SOX

QUALIFICATIONS :
 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Design, Computer Information Systems or
equivalent
 5+ years of experience in an Automotive SW Test or Development
 Experience with test automation and test or software architecture preferred.
 Experience with API / integration testing is preferred.
 Broad knowledge and experience with any ERP platform with a preference given to Infor XA.
 Experience in Infor XA Order Management, logistics and Cash applications is highly preferred.
 Previous experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies
 Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple project assignments.
 Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
 Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
 Ability to understand IBMi custom applications functionality.
