Title: Off-Road Vehicle Design Engineer – CVT Department: Global Engineering
Location: Polaris Bangalore Center
Polaris, a global powersports leader, is looking for an Engineer who will be responsible for
leading the design of CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) and related components for Off-
Road Vehicles (ORV). Work closely with Systems Engineers to ensure designs meet cost,
schedule, and performance deliverables while also spending a portion of time concepting next
generation designs to accelerate the process for future programs.
 CAD layout and design of industry leading ORV CVT Transmission variator systems including
the following components: cast aluminum/injection molded CVT housings and air-ducting.
 Interpret CAE (FEA and CFD) results and iterate to optimize a solution.
 Tolerance stack-up analysis and Monte-Carlo Simulations.
 Detail prints and assign appropriate GD&T.
 Conduct system clearance studies to assure design is within standard part to part clearance
 Work with CVT System Team leadership to define project assignments, goals and system
 Support development of new ORV CVT technologies under guidance of Sr. Systems
 Create and maintain component level CVT design guidelines and best practice documents.
 Network with and support CAD needs of multiple CVT systems engineers to analyze
manufacturing and field problems and recommend and implement solutions.
 Other duties as required.
 Organize and conduct design reviews on the assigned project to ensure adequate input and

Minimum Qualifications:
 B.E. / B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
 5 + years of experience with a 3-D CAD modeling package, Creo Parametric / Pro
Engineer preferred.
 Windchill/PRS experience

 GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups and experience with engineering
standards preferred.
 Work independently with minimal direction.
 Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize workload.
 Creative, innovative, decisive and prone to action.
 Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principals, practices and procedures to the
completion of difficult technical problems and projects.
 Ability to work with domestic and international technology partners.
 Quality and customer focused.
 Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Microsoft software including Excel, Project, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint experience
Preferred Qualifications:
 Understanding and experience with driveline components such as transmissions,
CVT’s, right-angle drives, prop shafts, and half shafts
 Knowledge of manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, complex
plastic component molding (Blow molding, Injection Molding), and rubber hose /
ducting (Injection molding, Mandrel molding)
 Understanding of bolted joint design and designing parts to strength and weight targets
 Fast paced office environment.
 Flexible hours may be required to participate in meetings with global team.
 International Travel to United States may be required (less than 10%).
