The above video demonstrates how to install the M2 Heated Seat (0:20), M2 Seat Storage Bag (6:40), and Passenger Footrest (8:40) on your Polaris Matryx snowmobile. Always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves when servicing your snowmobile. Before installing any accessories, make sure your snowmobile is parked on a flat, level surface and remove the key. To add a passenger seat and accessories to your Matryx snowmobile, follow the steps below.
M2 Heated Seat
The M2 heated seat is part number 2884957. View the instructions for this kit by searching the Polaris Accessory Installation Instruction Site.

To install the heated passenger seat on your Matryx snowmobile, follow these steps:
1. Begin by turning the quarter-turn latch at the rear of the seat and lifting up to remove the seat.
2. Detach the template page from the instruction manual, and verify that the reference dimension is printed to the proper scale. If the size is incorrect, refer to the instruction manual to obtain the proper-sized template.
3. Once the correctly sized template is secured, tape it into the position shown in the instruction manual, and mark the location of the hole with a hole punch and hammer.
4. Before drilling, ensure there are no wiring or components behind the drilling location.
5. Drill a 1-inch hole into the rear tank cover at the marked location with a 1-inch hole saw.
6. Install the 12-volt power harness plug by removing the harness plug cover and nut.
7. Insert the plug through the rear tank cover from the inside to the outside.
8. Reinstall the nut and tighten it until fully seated.
9. Reinstall the plug cover.
10. Once the harness plug is installed, remove the cap from the female connector on the chassis harness, and connect to the mating connector on the seat harness.
11. Reinstall the seat by aligning the front retaining groove and sliding the seat forward to engage the tab. Then secure the quarter-turn latch.
12. Before continuing, clean off the top of the tunnel and ensure the hardware mounting channels are clean and free any debris.
13. Insert the mounting T-slot screws into the opening in the top of the tunnel and slide them to the left and right of the opening on each side of the tunnel.
14. Once in position, install the latch pin and nuts. With a 10mm socket, torque the nuts to 60 in-lbs (7 Nm).
15. Repeat this process for the latch pin on the other side.
16. Move to the seat and remove the two inside fasteners on the inside trim panel with a T30 TORX® socket.
17. Pull outward on the bottom of the panel to remove from the seat, and repeat this process on the other side.
18. Route the main seat harness across the top of the seat frame assembly as shown in the instruction manual.
19. Install the passenger seat bun onto the seat frame assembly, ensuring the harness stays in the seat channel, and align the studs on the bottom of the bun with the mounting holes of the seat frame.
20. Before continuing, flip the seat over to aid in fastener access.
21. Install the four provided nuts needed. Torque the nuts to 60 in-lbs (7 Nm) with a 10mm socket.
22. Align the trim insert, and firmly press the trim into place.
23. Reinstall the trim fasteners. Torque to 6 ft-lbs (8 Nm).
24. Repeat this process for the other side.
25. Carefully install the backrest seat assembly onto the seat frame.
26. Loosely install the two rear fasteners to secure the backrest onto the frame with a 13mm socket.
27. Before continuing, ensure the bushing inserts are installed on the handholds. Isopropyl alcohol can be used to aid in installation.
28. While holding the backrest in place, insert the handhold assembly into hole in the seat frame.
29. Loosely install the front fastener to secure the handhold to the seat frame. Repeat this process for the other side.
30. Remove the rear fasteners that secure the trim panel to the passenger handles with a T40 TORX® socket.
31. Carefully flex the handguard downward and torque the two previously installed fasteners to 22 ft-lbs (30 Nm).
32. Reinstall the rear fasteners securing the trim panels to the passenger handles. Torque to 7 ft-lbs (10 Nm).
33. Connect each handhold harness connector and bun connector on the main harness, as shown in the instruction manual.
34. Install the backrest cover, and ensure the wires are not pinched.
35. Install the four provided fasteners. Torque to 60 in-lbs (7 Nm) with a T40 TORX® socket.
36. Position the seat assembly near the mounting position, and plug the main seat harness connector into the 12-volt power harness.
37. Secure the seat frame assembly by carefully aligning the latch pins to the seat latches. Lift up on the latch handles to engage the latch pins, and release to lock in place.
38. With the seat assembled and installed onto the vehicle, you can operate the handwarmer controls on the left handhold and the heated seat switch on the right.
M2 Seat Storage Bag Installation

To install the M2 Seat Storage Bag on your Matryx snowmobile, follow these steps:
1. Remove the four fasteners securing the rear seat panel, and remove the panel.
2. Use a T30 TORX® socket to remove the two fasteners on each side of the seat that secure the inside trim panels to the seat assembly, and remove the panels.
3. Remove the four fasteners securing the bottom panel to the seat assembly with a T40 TORX® socket.
4. Remove and discard the bottom panel.
5. Reinstall each side trim panel and secure with the previously removed fasteners. Torque to 60 in-lbs (7 Nm).
6. Support the bottom of the bag with a hand, and push up on its molded bottom panel while pushing the bag into the cavity under the seat.
7. Remove the inner bag liner to access the mounting holes underneath.
8. Secure the bag by installing the previously removed lower trim panel fasteners. Torque to 36 in-lbs (4 Nm).
9. Reinstall the bag liner, and ensure the velcro edges are fully seated.
10. Reinstall the back trim panel, ensuring the wires behind are not pinched. Reinstall the fasteners. Torque to 60 in-lbs (7 Nm).
Passenger Footrest Installation

To install the passenger footrest on your Matryx snowmobile, follow these steps:
1. Place the footrest into position with the mounting holes over each side of the tunnel support ribs.
2. Install the lower mounting brackets, starting all fasteners by hand with a 4mm Allen socket and then torqueing to 65 in-lbs (7.3 Nm).
3. Repeat this process for the other footrest.
