Polaris Issues Stop Ride / Stop Sale for Some Model Year 2021 RZR XP Turbo and RZR Turbo S Vehicles
>Polaris has determined that under certain operating conditions some Model Year 2021 RZR XP Turbo and RZR Turbo S vehicles (2 and 4 seat configurations) may have an increased risk of primary (drive) clutch failure. Certain primary clutch failures can cause debris and/or clutch components to be ejected from the clutch housing, posing a potential injury hazard to consumers. This condition typically occurs under high-load, low speed conditions (e.g., high boost vehicle launch, high RPM belt slip, launching with simultaneous brake and throttle application).
Number of affected vehicles: approximately 30,250 units globally.
Number of incidents: Polaris has identified 206 reports of clutch failure, including reports of six fires, two injuries and one tip over.
Polaris has identified a repair and is notifying dealers and contacting registered owners directly. Consumers should immediately stop using the impacted units and contact their Polaris-authorized dealer to schedule a free repair. DO NOT attempt any repairs yourself.
Polaris has reported this matter to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
