Polaris Issues Stop Sale/Stop Ride for Some 2020 RANGER XP 1000 and 2019-2020 PRO XD Models

Polaris has determined that some 2020 RANGER XP 1000 and 2019-2020 PRO XD vehicles may have been produced with a drive clutch stationary sheave that was manufactured incorrectly. An incorrectly manufactured stationary sheave may cause the engine braking feature to not release the belt after deceleration. In the event that the drive belt stays engaged after deceleration, the vehicle may continue to move unintentionally, posing the risk of a potential crash.

Number of affected vehicles: approximately 16,000

Number of incidents: There have been no reports of injuries and one report of minor property damage.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and call their dealer to schedule a repair. We encourage consumers to visit our Dealer Locator or call ahead to confirm operating hours given the current unfolding COVD-19 situation.

Polaris is notifying dealers and contacting affected registered owners by mail, and email if available. Polaris has reported this matter to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
