This is a wonderful machine. I have an 850 as well, and let me tell you, the stability is amazing on the 1000. The steering geometry changes are night and day from the other versions. I still find the transmission braking obtrusive and even dangerous at times. I would jump at an aftermarket kit put out by Polaris to reduce this effect.

Great ATV Poor Warranty
The sportsman 1000S is the one of the best ATV’s I have ever owned. This ATV has it all. It has the wider stance, adjustable shocks, HD front end and excellent towing and rack capacity. While this does come at a price, you won’t be disappointed

Wonderful machine
Have been on four rides and over 500 miles. Love it. I am experimenting with the suspension adjustment and still haven't found my perfect ride yet. Not sure I fully understand the shock system. Will keep working on it. Love it anyway.

Fast and fun to ride
This new 1000 with the extra wide stance and suspension is very fun to ride I was amazed how smooth and responsive it is and the higher ground clearance makes it easier to get over obstacles
