The following is a copy of the A-22-01 Consumer Letter issued 1/27/2023. Vehicles affected by this recall will receive notification by mail to the address the vehicle is registered to.
Dear Polaris Owner,
Polaris is recalling owner's manuals sold with some Model Year 2023 Sportsman and Scrambler ATVs. Polaris has determined that the owner's manuals were inadvertently printed with incorrect information in the safety section, posing a risk of serious injury. Our records show that you have purchased a vehicle that was sold with an affected manual. Polaris has reported this matter to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
What you should do:
Immediately stop using the vehicle until you review the updated safety section of the new owner’s manual (approximately 20 pages) included with this letter. Discard the owner’s manual included with your ATV once you review the safety section and put the new owner’s manual in the storage compartment with the onboard toolkit.
In addition, updated owner’s manuals with a corrected safety section are available online and can be viewed by looking up your ATV’s owner’s manual by navigating to https://www.polaris.com/en-us/owners-manuals/.
DO NOT OPERATE OR RIDE YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL YOU REVIEW THE UPDATED SAFETY SECTION OF THE NEW OWNER’S MANUAL.
This notice was mailed to you according to our most current registration information. If you no longer own this vehicle, or if some of the contact information in this notice is incorrect, please contact your dealer to complete a transfer of ownership. Federal law requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within 10 working days after the day on which the notice is received.
