Polaris Names Lucy Clark Dougherty General Counsel and SVP
>Minneapolis, MN (January 9, 2018) – Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII) today announced that Lucy Clark Dougherty will join Polaris as senior vice president, general counsel, compliance officer and corporate secretary, reporting to Chairman and CEO Scott Wine effective January 29. She will also serve as president of the Polaris Foundation.

Throughout her twenty-year career, Clark Dougherty has provided strategic counsel and managed complex legal operations across various sectors and industries. She joins Polaris from General Motors, where she most recently served as deputy general counsel for Global Markets, Autonomous Vehicles and Transportation as a Service. During her eight years with the company, Clark Dougherty was a trusted advisor, providing legal oversight and supporting General Motor’s global and domestic growth strategies.

Before joining General Motors in 2010, Clark Dougherty founded her own consulting group, advising clients on global financial regulatory and anti-corruption issues. She started her legal career with a federal judicial clerkship followed by private practice, after which she moved into the public sector with the United States Department of Justice, Executive Office of the President, and finally the United States Department of Homeland Security, where she eventually served as chief legal officer and counselor to the secretary of Homeland Security.
Clark Dougherty holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. She earned a master’s degree in history from the University of Virginia and her bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University.
