Polaris Donates 10 Military-Grade Ultra-Light Vehicles to the Salvation Army for Hurricane Sandy Relief

Roseville, MN (November 21, 2012) – Polaris Industries Inc. has donated 10 military-grade Ultra-Light Vehicles to The Salvation Army, to assist in their relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The MVRS 700 4x4 vehicles, built to operate in extreme conditions, will enhance The Salvation Army’s ability to transport food, water and other critical supplies to areas hard-hit by the devastating Oct. 29 storm.

The vehicles shipped earlier this week from Polaris’ plant in Osceola, Wis., to Salvation Army locations in New York and New Jersey. The Salvation Army continues to provide hot meals, drinks, emotional support and other critical services to hundreds of thousands of Hurricane Sandy survivors and relief workers.

“Our thoughts are with those struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy,” said Polaris CEO Scott Wine. “The Salvation Army is working tirelessly to ease their hardship, and we hope the vehicles we provide will hasten relief efforts and help restore some sort of normalcy to those affected by the storm.”
