JOB SUMMARY:
Lead Bill of Material (BOM) structure management for various Polaris products using PTC Windchill. Responsible for identifying efficient methods to utilize CAD/Design structure to construct model BOMs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates and releases engineering BOMs; supervises and participates in their release through the change process
Create and Manage the EBOM for colored parts, Create/Configure Variant/Model Specific EBOMs in Windchill
Identifies model feature variables by analyzing project scope and model breakdown
Set-up and management of parts, change objects, options, choices, rules, assigned expressions, and models
Plans, organizes, and coordinates own work as well as communicates through regular updates, accountable for meeting schedule completion dates or for providing timely feedback when dates cannot be met
Identifies and completes individual tasks required to meet overall project plan
Provides guidance and assigns tasks to less experienced team members
Multitasks and prioritizes a large volume of tasks in the Polaris release system efficiently
Updates part structure in PDM to align with ERP requirements
Develops and identifies business processes and standards to improve Engineering team efficiencies
Collaborates with internal business partners to gather requirements to help find solutions for efficient system use.
Partners with Engineering training to develop and deliver training to the internal Engineering staff
Performs data analysis and audits to support Quality Assurance objectives
Provides accurate and timely metrics to the Leadership team, as needed
Actively participates in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), as needed
Works on ad-hoc projects, as assigned Support the Windchill users on Release Process as needed
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, MIS, or related field
Knowledge on Engineering Change Management, Understanding of multi-level EBOM & Variant Configuration
Knowledge on Release workflow & ERP
Good to have Automotive Industry Experience
Minimum of 3 years Bill of Material experience preferred
Proven track record and experience with Windchill
CAD/Creo experience is a bonus Direct experience managing structure for colors and/or raw materials
Understanding of overloaded or Feature & Option model BOMs
Must be a self-starter that requires minimal work direction
Quick, Independent, & Eager Learner
Ability to collaborate with several engineers and analysts of varied skill levels
Experience in a model year-based production environment
Strong problem resolution skills
Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills
