At Polaris Inc., we have fun doing what we love by driving change and innovation. We empower employees to take on challenging assignments and roles with an elevated level of responsibility in our agile working environment. Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE.

Position Overview:

As the Director of Operations, your role will involve leading a team that is dedicated to the design and development of Polaris' Global Manufacturing Footprint, encompassing both back-shop and final assembly operations. Your strategic focus will revolve around driving Polaris' long-term growth and profitability objectives in alignment with all Global Business Units (GBUs). The key components of this strategy include Plant Network Optimization (PNO), Vertical Integration, and Insource/Outsource strategies.

Within the PNO framework, your responsibilities extend to assimilating inputs from the GBUs, considering factors such as size, location, labor availability, inbound and outbound logistics, production mix, and anticipated growth. This comprehensive approach allows for the prediction and optimization of our global manufacturing footprint. Your team's crucial tasks involve the identification of opportunities and the coordination of transitions from our supply base to our existing operations. To achieve this, you will collaborate strategically with our production sites, their respective GBU leaders, as well as our purchasing and engineering departments. The goal is to ensure seamless transitions while quantifying the cost savings generated by Value Improvement initiatives. Additionally, your role encompasses the continuous evaluation of insource/outsource opportunities to ensure they remain competitive and aligned with evolving market dynamics and input adjustments.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Partnership : Act as the primary liaison with Global Business Units (GBUs) to ensure seamless alignment on project timelines, cost efficiency, and potential savings. You'll also serve as the gatekeeper for managing new project requests, making you a pivotal driver of our company's future success.

Visionary Leadership: Chart the strategic course for our plant network, both domestically and internationally. Your role involves forecasting future labor strategies, positioning you as a key architect of our company's growth.

Dynamic Capacity Management : Continually revitalize the Plant Network Capacity model monthly using the latest Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP/S&OP) data. This ensures that our back shop and final assembly capacities always align with company requirements. You'll collaborate closely with plant leadership to facilitate smooth part and product transitions between plants and vendors as needed.

Inspiring Team Development : Lead and nurture your team, fostering their growth and development. This involves conducting engaging staff meetings, monthly operating reviews, and providing crucial support during executive reviews. Your leadership will shape a high-performing and motivated team.

Financial Stewardship : Achieve and exceed department budget goals, showcasing your financial acumen and commitment to optimizing resources.
