
Manager, Polaris Adventures Account Management

Purpose: Leading a team of Regional Account Managers, The Account Management Manager acts as the owner for Outfitter and network performance for the Western half of the United States. Driving new initiatives into production and gaining team buy in on new ideas while aiding and directing the Regional Account Management Team on activities in onboarding, maintaining, and growing the business. This role will work in conjunction with the Sr. Operations Manager in workforce planning and optimization.
Key Responsibilities*:
- Coach / Lead Regional Account Managers
- Develop trust with employees through fairness, confidentiality, and leadership
- Leverage skill of the team to complete tasks / projects; empowers team to act and intervenes where appropriate
- Holds accountability to team and coaches to autonomy
- Customer Service
- Direct team to establish outreach cadence (written & verbal) and expectations early; continuously build value proposition of ADV & Select with assigned outfitters and vendors
- Direct team to anticipate and manage the needs of outfitters; work with Team Leads to build and deploy Outfitter improvement plans highlighting growth opportunities / initiatives, program compliance, and NPS improvement.
- Nurture ongoing outfitter relationships by establishing quality initiatives within the department to achieve industry leading quality; act as an escalation point on specified issues
- Understand network business model & customer to address escalated pain points promptly and leverage knowledge & best practices across the network
- Communication
- Present new opportunities or ideas tailored to outfitters, customers, or internal stakeholders using available data or trends
- Communicate and escalate pertinent information to the leadership team and relevant team members (e.g., competitive intelligence, expansion and growth initiatives, marketing activities).
- Process and Procedure
- Assist in the build and management of standardized implementation and support processes
- Maintain clear documentation of processes and requirements or issue management for root case analysis and countermeasures.
- Lead with a mindset of continuous improvement and provide metrics to showcase results and drive behaviors. Escalate issues and make improvements where needed.
- Ensure timely and successful implementation and training on all packages/solutions; coordinate with internal/external vendors, suppliers, and consultants
- Decision Making and Recommendations
- Use available data sources (market trends, ride statistics, etc.) to build accurate network fleet size/mix, formulate strategic plans, and direct activity of Account Managers
- Lead with a mindset of continuous improvement and provide metrics to showcase results and drive behaviors. Escalate issues and make improvements where needed.
- Partner in prospecting and qualification activities for renewals and expansion opportunities.
Key Characteristics:
- Adaptability – able to support evolving and unknown program
- Communication / Spokesperson - Voice of outfitter/RAM for program roll outs
- Collaboration – Communication plans cross functionally, with RAMs, and with Management
- Relationship Building – Ability to quickly establish rapport and be a trusted advisor to outfitter and RAM. (Partner support)
- Organization / Deadline Driven – say/do ratio. If you agree to something (outfitter facing, internal, program rollout, etc), ensure timing is met or renegotiated. (CBM)
- Detail oriented – Organize, document and report out accurately
Experience Required (Must Have):
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, sales or similar field is required
- 7+ years in relationship management (account manager, client development, &/or small business process consulting)
- 2+ years of experience leading and motivating small to midsize teams, driving results and exceeding expectations
- Presentation (build and deliver polished presentations in PPT)
- Ability to analyze data and make meaningful recommendations
- Build rapport and influence, using diplomacy, to drive program participation and outfitter success in meeting growth and expansion objectives
- Works professionally and effectively with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships with customers and team members; resolve conflicts or concerns as they arise.
- Deliver client-focused solutions based on customer need; negotiate challenges, remove barriers and work through issues
- Listens for conflicts or challenges and provides solution-oriented recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities or time demands; think conceptually, formulate, and strategically plan.
- Remains flexible and open minded to accommodate additional duties as assigned
Experience Required (Nice to Have):
- 4+ years of people leadership experience overseeing/managing/coaching a remote workforce
- Entrepreneurial mindset with understanding of small and mid-size businesses
- Background in franchising or multi location businesses
- Needs based selling mindset- bring others along by selling benefits of program
- Experience with change management / leading teams through change
- Ability to work a hybrid in-office work schedule 3 days/week out of our Plymouth, MN office.
