We have a great opportunity for a Technical leader to join our Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) business. You will be responsible for the planning and development of our subsystem modular design strategy to meet both the near- and long-term requirements of the global Off-Road business unit as well as our Off Road customers. Subsystems include but are not limited to: Vehicle Powertrains (ICE & Electric), Drivelines, and vehicle controllers. As the leader of Modular Design, you will collaborate with Off Road Product Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Central Engineering to develop a 10-year roadmap to deliver on customer needs and drive productivity with scale.
Lead Subsystem PDC Process to continually evaluate roadmaps relative to business strategy, advancing technology, global trends, and competitive threats
Partner with engineering and sourcing to identify and execute key strategic partnerships needed to deliver the modular design objectives by platform
Development and track investment plan to deliver modular design strategy through LRP, LRPP, and budget
Oversee the processes and metrics required for successful planning and insertion of modular design in LRP(P), budgeting, and program kickoff
Continually benchmark competition and global industries relative to modular design and recommend internal improvements to drive Off-Road productivity
Partner with Off Road Strategy & Productivity Team and Central Engineering to ensure processes are documented and integrated within product development (LRPP, Pre PDP, PDP).
Establish a governance process to ensure modular design targets are met and maintained. Generate and maintain documents of record as needed to support subsystem and modular design plans. May include, but are not limited to module interface requirements, subsystem roadmaps, and derivative plans by product platform.
Requires a BS degree (minimum) in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
Passion for leading and directing engineering teams (preferably multi-level) with wide-ranging skills and experience
Demonstrated success managing the development of complex systems and/or technologies following a well-defined process
Extensive knowledge of vehicle systems preferably in the areas of powertrain, driveline, controllers, or structures.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Enthusiastic collaborator with the ability to manage and prioritize all day-to-day responsibilities with little to no direct supervision
Must be able to quickly assess and then make, escalate or delegate decisions as needed
