DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs, implements, and maintains service standards
  • Works towards and ensures current and new projects are completed on schedule
  • Working under minimum supervision and accomplishing tasks on time
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the products, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions
  • Self-sufficient… Cutting, Bending and Fabricating without supervision
  • Produce/Fabricate and Assemble prototype parts to drawing specs.
  • Test fitting of prototype parts on vehicles
  • Disassembly/reassembly and maintenance of prototype vehicles
  • Works to create, design, and/or improve new products during development
  • Produce/Fabricate and Assemble product fixtures (individual tube and main fixture) as necessary
  • Responsible for new product and fixture validation
  • Works with vendor on new product development/prototyping
  • Works with Vendors to ensure quality of received orders is up to PA standards
  • Quality control of new products received from vendors
  • Facilitates work with other departments for vehicle builds
  • Makes sure to keep up to date on ordering of material/consumable goods for R&D & Welding departments
  • Maintenance of welding fixtures
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MUST have on the job experience
  • MIG & TIG welding skills
  • Tube bending and programming experience a +
  • Press brake and programming experience a +
  • General knowledge of shop tools (i.e., grinders, saws, sanders, etc.)
  • Machining skills are a +
  • Ability to read CAD drawings
  • Two to four years related experience or equivalent
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Bilingual skills a plus

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Calculate figures and amounts
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Understand and respond to a diverse population

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • A large percentage of work time is spent in a production warehouse where temperatures range from warm to cool and noise level can be moderate to high
