Levi: What's up everyone welcome to another episode of Lunch with Levi where today we were going to ride from a famous mountain town in the heart of Montana. That's right, we're based at a West Yellowstone Montana and we have an iconic ride plan for today. We also have a guest that absolutely loves power sports and the outdoors. He's originally from Georgia and he is a musician that I can't even tell you how excited I am to ride with him. We should have a lot of fun on this one so stick around for the next episode of Lunch with Levi. Riding my snowmobile professionally for 20 plus years has taken me and my family around the world, but it's time for me to get back to my roots, time to trail ride to iconic places with great people and oh yeah I also want to show you guys the best places to eat along the way, so join me for sleds, food and friends on Lunch with Levi. Today we're in a snowmobiling Mecca of the western United States we're in West Yellowstone Montana. This is an epic location right but even better we got a legend in the house and I'm sure as heck ain't talking about me we got singer songwriter Tyler Hub here he's going to join me for Lunch with Levi. Tyler I know you you know you can see it from your social media you love the outdoors You Love Motorsports give us a little background on it.
Tyler: Yeah Levi well thanks for thanks for having me out today man. This is beautiful super excited and yeah I grew up grew up in smalltown Georgia riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers and and you know goofing off and uh and I have to tell you it was a blast but this is all pretty new for me. We did not have snowmobiles in Georgia so uh so yeah I'm I'm excited to be here and uh check out the trails do something a little different and uh yeah see where it goes.
Levi: It's going to be awesome it's awesome well I know you got a little background Mountain riding so far so this is a different genre of it so we're going to go trail riding so you're going to be you're going to be leaning turning those type things but with your background I think you're going to love it.
Tyler: We'll send it man I'm pumped it's going to be fun.
Levi: So we've got a great plan laid out we're going to go for a nice ride through some of the most beautiful trails in the United States and then we're going to end in Downtown West Yellowstone at a restaurant that's famous for their buffalo burgers which I I'm pretty excited for the buffalo burger.
Tyler: Yeah man hard to beat that a good good day of riding sled and then hit a burger and we just drove through the little town and that's got to be one of the coolest towns in the world man. I mean snowmobiles everywhere and cool spots so yeah I'm I'm exced excited to check it out I think we're uh I think we're about ready to get this should we get after it.
Levi: I'm ready let's get it.
[Music Playing]
Tyler (singing): I got a sled to ride and I really want to ride you around in this time of night there ain't no red light we got a good long stretch roll see how fast this thing going go with that shoulder on the side looking my right now I can drive you from this holler to Hollywood got like 700 horses under the hood but I can't hold you at this high speed and you look good in that side see while we making these Tire screen and this so see all I want to do all I want to do.
[Music Playing]
Levi: Hey right here we'll get you off that bump you can rip a wheelie okay we'll spin her around here let me see that one quick oh yeah this thing's got some mustard try finding a bump if you can get into that powder and like slow down and then just really gave her yink grab a handful okay it'll pull up over there or even that first bump if you kind of angle it towards where it'll go through that little strip of powder yeah it'll start sinking.
[Music Playing]
Levi: One there you go that was a good one that's good holy cow I got to take a layer off yeah what's the what's your workout routine.
Tyler: The last year I got into boxing it's a train and it's so it's just so fun one and you forget that you're training kind of yeah and man it's a killer great work out in cardio it's great for what I need to do on stage and just pushing and challenging myself to do something different you know that's not the typical gym workout it's good stuff.
Levi: Back in when I first was in the beginning of my career I went out to I went out to California to ride dirt bikes with a buddy and he's like hey you should you should try my buddy's G he's a MMA fighter and I said yeah for sure so I went and did it and he had me uh he had me throwing up that first day and I'm like man if I can do this on the regular I imagine I got to get tougher then you can definitely race snowmobiles and be in the best shape yeah so I went out there and I didn't do like I wasn't doing any of the the grappling or any of that stuff but we did some boxing drills and some different things like that and just their physical workouts were intense yeah my I can you know I'm getting a little older so I'm just kind of thinking man I want to be able to that's what I love about mountain towns and Mountain lifestyle is active everybody's active and you got dudes that are 85 years old that could hike circles around me and I'm just like how here we'll go like this we'll put it there's a little cubby hole right up front too.
Levi: Woo look at that we did it.
Tyler: Yo let's go didn't get much better than that well let's get in let's do it.
Levi: I want to hear about this bu I kind of want to just sit on my snowmobile and eat L to be honest as nice as it is out here so beautiful so new to snowmobil and you've done a a little bit of back country stuff with your buddies and trail riding and such like we're doing now this is kind of like the the program you go for a ride you end up at a restaurant and you get to talk and kind of bench race with your buddies what' you see what did you do so it's kind of fun to do recap yeah so it's a really cool culture you know and in snowmobilers in general it's like everyone's kind of got your back you know when if you got some issue on side of the trail they someone drive by they're going to stop so you good you need any help that's cool yeah yeah it's really Co it feels like a cool Community.
Tyler: Yeah ab kind of like Moto or anything where you kind of got your you feel like you got a community you know people look you know like you said got your back and it's cool to pull up somewhere like this and just look around everybody's got their snowmobile gear on their helmets and they uh yeah just enjoying a little lunch it's pretty cool so are you like song writing a lot like all the time.
Tyler: Yeah that's kind of like my 9 to5 that's kind of what I consider it okay granted I still get to dictate my schedule and I have a guy who sets up all my rights for me and we work uh closely on like how you feeling like basically you know sometimes I like to get in the rhythm of writing like three songs a week that's a really good Pace um to try to stay creative and try to still have ideas but then sometimes I'm like bro I need a few weeks off like I just I'm feeling empty I need to go live life and get inspired and get creative and so it's one of those you know it's not it's my 9 to5 but it's definitely it's definitely not I also kind of always have that muscle working too right.
Levi: Speaking of that what is you know I know you're busy you're running all over the place what is your Escape.
Tyler: My Escape especially the last few years has just been getting out in the mountains yeah yeah my wife is from Idaho and this beautiful mountain town and um I've been going there two or three times a year to just to visit her family and hang out and I've just fallen in love with mountain life and and uh I just love everything about it you know I feel close to God I feel connect Ed to Nature I feel free I feel just quiet and being around surrounded by the beauty I just feel like I can really check out and kind of uh and kind of recharge and so that's kind of been my lately that's my go-to if I can if I can get away and get in the mountains and I'm I'm in my happy place for sure do you do you find any inspiration out there I saw I saw on your social you were out snowshoeing one time and I was like I I think a lot like as life gets busier with work and kids and everything else like for me anyway I've had less alone time where you get to do that stuff and it seems like anytime I go for like a long drive or something all of a sudden my mind is like and I'm like spitting out ideas and my wife hates it cuz I'm calling her like hey what do you think of this you know but that happens for me in the shower I feel I feel like I get a lot of ideas in the shower and I think it's truly cuz I'm just like alone and I just have some time to just you know I don't know why and I don't have my phone with me which is and I should just call it my permanent distraction like I don't have any distraction so for some reason that's when my brain really starts to kick into kick in yeah bro so it's uh but yeah same thing happens if I'm out if I'm on a long hike or just spending some time by myself or even with my family out in the mountains.
Tyler: Was there a moment when you just stopped and went or a place where you just were like I can't believe this is my life I think it hits me uh it still hits me you know pretty often just like pinch myself and think wow like even today you know what I mean like music has opened so many doors and created cool opportunities and even just to get to do what we did today it's just epic but yeah as far as shows go you know I'd say over the years you know Madison Square Garden Red Rocks you know you got your kind of like historic venue it happens for me more at the beginning of the day like when they're loading in I'll go and and stand in the venue and just look around and just think man like take it in yeah how historic this place is or how many amazing think of the other musicians that have been there and oh and then it hits me sometimes during the show too where it's just this surreal moment where you're just like I can't believe I get to do what I love and I get to do it at this level and then people are here and they're singing my songs back to me so uh so yeah I've definitely had multiple moments over the years where it just uh you know it kind of feels surreal we don't have large crowds like real close cuz obviously you got to keep everyone back but there was one time we did a a backflip for the Super Bowl like on super on Saturday and then like it was in Minneapolis and there was a sea of people everywhere as far as I could see I do the flip I climb up to the top of the landing and I'm looking down the street and it's people just all the way and I'm like yeah I was so pumped and these people are just as excited as I am and I remember thinking to myself I'm like I don't know what a rock star feels like but I bet it this is the closest I'm ever going to get to it's pretty cool feeling man when you see that many people and you're all kind of connected for whatever reason you know you're all you know energized and and just feel feeling excited for whatever it is music jump you know it's just uh it's a cool thing to be a part of it's a cool moment when you get that many people together and you're all just.
Host at the Buffalo Bar: Hey guys welcome to the Buffalo Bar all right how are we doing today.
Levi: We're doing great we're doing great tell me about the Buffalo Bar.
Host at the Buffalo Bar: There's a lot to tell yeah um everything's good on our menu we're known for all of our bison dishes our bison Burgers but we also have it in the place of tacos.

Tyler: I've never had a buffalo burger before.
Host at the Buffalo Bar: It's good yeah it's good it's good and it's all pretty local since this is where the Buffalo are give me a little history on on the Buffalo here um it's a family affair my father's owned the liquor license for 30 some years and about 12 years ago we thought we would expand it and we'd have a restaurant really it was going to be a bar that had a little bit of good food and now here we are it's a whole other ball game I mean it it looks like a museum just walking through here it's unbelievable yeah and that's all in the family too of so it's been fun it's been a fun J I won't hold you up we're we're pretty hungry and we got Buffalo Burger on our M can I do you let me know I'll do the the uh Cowboy buffalo burger yeah I'll have the uh the West mix burger sounds good I'll get that going for you guys you get on drinks yeah we're good thank you yep.

Levi: I tell you what I'm no question I'm no songwriter but if I were to sum up my day and make a song I would call it high fives for Miles because I'm all about high fives and I tell you what Burgers like this riding like that I mean I was going to give you a high five that was awesome.
Tyler: I'll probably write that song oh I love it.
