The following is a copy of the R-25-02 consumer e-mail issued on 4/8/2025. Vehicles affected by this recall will receive notification by mail to the address the vehicle is registered to.
Dear Polaris Owner,
Polaris has determined that some Model Year 2023-2025 RANGER XP 1000 NorthStar and RANGER Crew XP 1000 NorthStar vehicles may have been built with lower seat belt anchor fasteners that were not properly torqued, which could result in the seat belt separating from the anchor point, posing a potential injury hazard to consumers. Our records show you have purchased an affected vehicle. Polaris has informed the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) about the issue.
Our records indicate that you are the owner of a RANGER affected by Safety Recall R-25-02.
A repair solution is available. To get your vehicle repaired, contact your authorized Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment to have the repairs performed. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Repairs must be done only by an authorized Polaris dealer. This repair should take approximately 15 minutes or less. When making contact with your dealer, discuss parts availability, their schedule and how long they will need to keep your vehicle.
Your safety is a top priority for us; however, we realize this safety notice is an unwanted disruption in your ownership journey. We are providing owners with information that will allow you to keep riding safely prior to repair, by following the Seat Belt Anchor Fastener Verification Instructions:
1. Read, understand, and follow the Seat Belt Anchor Fastener Verification Instructions linked HERE. If you are not comfortable completing an inspection yourself, do not operate your vehicle until it is inspected, and repaired if necessary, by an authorized Polaris dealer.
2. The fasteners where the seat belt attaches to the frame (chassis) must be inspected to determine if they are tightened in order to keep riding. If you find a fastener not properly tightened, you must stop operating the vehicle until repaired by an authorized Polaris dealer.
Important: This inspection process is only meant to keep you riding safely prior to having the recall completed at your dealer. The safety recall will remain open on your VIN until a dealer completes the full inspection and as necessary repairs.
